Raven gripped James's shirt tighter, trying to keep from turning around and setting the dolt a blaze. She began to warm up a bit, but not too much.

((I get the feeling Raven doesn't like Finn all that much.))

Finn hesitated. Then he sighed and put a hand over his eyes. "Oh, wow, that was rude of me, wasn't it?" He looked back at the group, his expression softening. "Okay, let's start over." He paused.

"My name is Finn. Finn Ryttare. I was being held as a prisoner here until some minutes ago. Now, if I may venture, who are you?"

"I'm James Patterson, like the author," James said. "I came here with Marina and Raven," he nodded at the two girls, "to rescue Thomas."

"I'm Thomas," Thomas said. He didn't offer his last name. "I was also being held captive here until these guys busted me out."

"And I will back anyone that I know up before you." Marina added, quiet but menacing.

Raven kept her gaze from meeting Finn's. She didn't particularly like that boy. He just seemed so...flakey. And flammable.

((Actually, due to various plot shenanigans I actually ended up making Finn so he can't burn.
Like, you can burn him, but he doesn't burn.
Because it's hard to work the regenerating thing into a pile of ashes.
Which is somewhat ironic considering this version's house burned down or something))

Finn groaned. "Hey, I gave you my name and everything. What more do I have to do?"

Finn shot Raven an angry glare. "Hey," he retorted. "I was just taking a nice stroll outside after being locked up for several months in some sort of compound and forced to undergo various means of torture and painful tests when I wasn't CHAINED to the WALL. Excuse me if I'm not the nicest guy right now!"

He thought he felt his eye flash red for a brief second, though it might've just been his imagination.

"Well excuse me! I just got out of that hell hole after getting tested, tortured, beaten and f*cking drained of my magic which made me blind for a while! SO EXCUSE ME FOR BEING OVERLY SUSPICIOUS!!" Raven retorted, her eyes glowing a bit brighter.

"Raven, please!" James stepped in between the two people and held Raven by the shoulders. "Now is not the time. Look..." He turned to the boy - Finn - and gave him a hard stare. "We still don't know who you are exactly, and we've all had a difficult week, so please forgive Raven for getting upset. We just want to get out of here."

Raven held her head, trying to calm herself down. Sadly, her temper was just as fiery as her magic.

Finn took a deep breath. He tried to calm down, though he couldn't stop a growl from escaping his throat.
"Here, how about this. You just let me out of the ground now, and we both go our separate directions. Alright?"

Marina's tongue was glued inside her mouth; she was unable to say anything. She simply hoped that James would agree and they could leave this dreaded place.

Thomas almost growled back. "I don't trust this guy," he muttered to James.

James shook his head at his friend and then turned back to Finn. "Okay. Good luck, then, wherever you're going." The earth receded from around Finn's feet with a sucking noise.

Raven narrowed her eyes, but didn't object to his actions. So long as he stays the f^ck away from us...
