Hi, I’m Tanya. I often read both WW1 and 2 books but focussing more currently on WW2 as I will be studying it for a university module in October. I’ve found that Hobsbawm and Hastings have become favoured authors whilst Ferguson is one I steer very much clear of. Looking forward to following the group ☺️

Hi everyone just joined. My primary interest are Australian military history followed by general WWII. Having said that I am always happy learning new things. Jonny your comment cracked me up as it reflects a military history blog (Doug Dery) I have followed for years. Everyone ends up broke over there too!
Welcome to the group, Tim. You will find several members who share your interest in Australian military history, as well as pretty much any other topic about World War II.

I know that Amazon.it (Italy) offers all of the books I am aware of (even all of the books I wrote) on line. I am not aware of books in Italian on WW II, since I do not read Italian, but the e-books should be available.
Welcome to the group, Tim and Silvia! Nice to have you join us. We will be happy to help divert a large portion of your budget to books.
Hello everyone,my name is Layla, I have always had an interest in WW2, I have been In this group for a while I am not sure if I had introduced myself. When I was at secondary school we were only taught a subject from history over one term, then would go to something else in history.when it got to that we were told about WW2. It fascinated me. And after that term ended and we went to another topic in history I continued to get books on WW2 from my library. Something I still continue to do. I have a interest in all WW2, but I do love to read about what the children of the time went through. Are there any areas of this page on the subject of children through WW2.
Hello Layla. I think there's a thread for the Home Front and that might have some of what you're looking for.In the meantime, here's a book I read many years ago which you might find interesting:
A Child of Hitler: Germany in the Days When God Wore a Swastika
Hi Layla, welcome to the group. Marc has already mentioned the Home Front thread whete you might find some more books on your area of interest.
Recommend ‘Goodnight Children Everywhere: Voices of the Evacuees” by Monica Morris. Deals with experiences of British children (of which I was one) evacuated early in the war etc. Ian

Witnesses of War: Children's Lives Under the Nazis by Nicholas Stargardt
I was evacuated twice! Once when the bombing started in earnest; I think that was in 1941 when we were sent to Scotland. We came back in '42/3 and then went back when the V1s started in '44. My sister was born in Scotland in Oct '44. I started school in Scotland and came home in January '45 to start school in Twickenham with a Scottish accent: which I soon lost apparently!
Hello. I read almost everything that comes into my hands but find WWI and WWII books to be of particular interest. I was glad to come across such an active group. WWII Greece is an area about which I would like to know more.

I know some the volumes of the Time-Life series on World War II deal with Greece, but not sure if they have the detail you are looking for.
