Welcome, Ryan.

Lately I have been reading several novels set in WWII, seeing movies about the War, and being drawn into its history and the lessons we can learn from it, and from the people who lived through it. Among the latter were my parents . Dad was a G.I. who fought in Europe, and my mom was the French girl he met and married.
I look forward to following the various threads here, and sharing our mutual interest in WWII.
Best,
Ellen

Thanks for the welcome.

Thanks for the welcome.

Looking forward to discussing WWII books that We read. Most recently finished Avenue of Spies, which I truly enjoyed.
Chris

I have just joined this group. I am an I.R student and a proud Bibliophile! I enjoy reading War, both in fiction and non-fiction.

Welcome aboard, Anam! The recommendations will come fast and hard, all you have to do is ask!

Welcome to the group Anam. If you have space on your bookshelf we can help fill it...!

I'm Laurance, I moved to Finland 5 years ago and since then have buried my head in as many Finnish history books as I could find.
Being an Army brat and then a Territorial, I have been interested in the Military since I can remember and my obsession has only grown with my length and girth ;)
Can reading "The Naval War. in the Baltic: 1939-1845" by Poul Grooss and so far I'm really impressed with the content. Definitely a must read for WW2 fans as it looks at an often overlooked part of the conflict.

Let me be the first to welcome you to the Group

Welcome Anam (and Laurance!). There are so many good books on the Holocaust, and there's a whole discussion on here devoted to Holocaust books. I'm sure you'll get lots of recommendations. Two books that have really stayed with me are:

omg thank you! I do have quite a few. I do find it hard to come across narratives of the WWII from the germans perspective. That would be an interesting perspective to read i think.
I'm also interested in anything to do with some of the great battles that were fought in WWII. Like the battle for normandy, Iwo Jima, and the D-day allied invasion. I don't know which ones are the best.

But I'm REALLY excited to be a part of this group. H..."
