Spent some time there on some exercises, originally from Missouri, not far from KCMO, so I did enjoy my trips there.

Welcome, James. Please don't be shy about pitching in. I'm retired Navy. We have many former or retired military in the group from all services and many young people who are simply interested in WW II.

I was a child during WW2 and have always maintained an interest in this period. I am also a veteran of the US Army.
It was not until I retired that I started reading regularly. For the last several years, my WW2 reading interests have centered on the Pacific theater. I was very uninformed about operations in and around the Philippines. I have discovered a wealth of interesting books on this topic perhaps because more Americans, civilian and military were suddenly caught up in the war and became escapees,prisoners or guerrilla fighters.
I hope to learn about other interesting WW2 books from this group.
