Stevie: Welcome. This is an active group with members from all over the globe. You'll find members with great knowledge of all the theaters, weapons, operations and personalities of WW II.

Hey history buffs,
Just writing to introduce myself, first wanted to thank Aussie Rick for the welcome message! I'm a 25 year old college student in California, In the process of finishing my history degree. I've always had an interest in military history, from ancient times to modern warfare. It was always the one class in school where learning actually felt fun! The first real WW2 history books that got me started in reading history books was the Liberation Trilogy by Rick Atkinson, which I recently finished. It's great to know there's like minded individuals out there!

Omnia: Welcome to our group. You will find a wide sample of knowledgeable and friendly members.

However, there has been a problem with this, lately: The link I have given to the Holocaust thread has not worked for some people (while it has worked for other people). And some people have also had problems to find the group without a link.
Has anybody got any idea how this problem can be eliminated? As everyone knows, I am a computer-dummy.

Welcome to the best little group on Goodreads, Omnia. Glad you found us.

Welcome Gray. This is an active group with much knowledge in manner different areas concerning WW II.

Hi, Gray,
Welcome to the group! I can guarantee that you will love it. I consider it the nicest group on Goodreads. -- I suggest you start your WWII-reading with Heinz's book. It is my favorite memoir of all times, and being a pilot, you will definitely cherish the frame the memoir is embedded in. (Oh, dear, this is a typical un-English, German-sounding tapeworm-sentence. Never mind.)

My Name Was Five: A Novel of the Second World War
I suggest you get the paperback version. I have both, the paperback and the kindle. Yet I find the paperback so much nicer.

Gray: Our November theme is the Pacific Theater. Since you mentioned academic histories, allow me to recommend:

Hi Gray, nice to have another pilot in the group. Good time to be going to the airlines I think. Glad you found us, plenty of good books to discover.

Try some of my aviation books, see amazon or my website. Great first person stories from combat pilots, if you are interested. I have a new one out in March.
