Feliks Well. I wouldn't myself, call it 'awesome'. Its mildly interesting but there are many others (written in a similar vein) which are much more forceful

Try Heidegger, Kant, Ricouer, (especially) Bachelard, Merleau-Ponty, even Castaneda

Perec, Roussel...LeFebvre...Hsu...Blanchot...

Jonas Carlsson It is indeed awesome! :) I don't know if you'll see this after 14 years, but I'd recommend some of Goffman's other books like Stigma and Asylums. Maybe also Outsiders by Howard S. Becker - Goffman and he are both very much from the same sociological tradition and examine many of the same themes regarding identity, norms, and the presentation of self.
