Bloomin’Chick (Jo) aka The Eclectic Spoonie (bloominchick) Welcome to The White Garden, our Spring 2010 group read! Dee is leading the read but I wanted to get this thread going in case anyone has started reading already. Please feel free to post your initial thoughts on the book but please begin your comment(s) with *Spoilers Possible* if you want to mention something specific from the book (as opposed to "I'm really enjoying the book..."). Much appreciated! I'm looking forward to seeing Dee's plans for the read and reading & discussing this book w/all of you!

Cheryl S. | 3501 comments I finished The White Garden and think it's a good choice for discussion and enjoyed the book very much. I plan to re-read each section as we go through the discussion as there is a lot going on and know I will need a refresher by the time we start to talk about it.

MadgeUK I look forward to joining you in this discussion when I receive the book. I am a keen gardener living in the UK and hope to enjoy some discussions on gardening too.

I'm still waiting for mine to arrive!

MadgeUK I took delivery of the book this morning and immediately delved into it. What a cornucopia of gardening delights, what beautiful descriptions of Sissinghurst and what a great story! For your further delight I have posted a thread with some beautiful photographs of the location and some history.

MadgeUK I am extremely confused by the two threads about this 'read'. When is it supposed to start and if is has not only started but finished, where is the discussion?

Bloomin’Chick (Jo) aka The Eclectic Spoonie (bloominchick) Sorry for any confusion Madge! The other thread entitled, "Let's Get This Party Started (The White Garden - *Spoilers Possible*)" is the discussion thread for the read. I opened this one before Dee in case anyone had already started reading as that usually happens. Our group reads here run the length of 1 season for this our Spring group read, roughly 4/1 through June. We don't usually have too much activity going on with our group reads at any given time, especially during Spring and Summer, the busy gardening months! All of the info is in Dee's thread just click on this link: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/3...
