sounds good Connie, will pick up thanks

Finished:

Of Lee Child, I really liked The Enemy probably the best, although I've liked all of them and haven't read a bad book by him. I'm interested to see what happens when he finally gets back to Virginia after 61 hours-- he managed not to make it back through one additional book so far!

Finished:

I think my first was Trunk Music, and I want to say it has some character relationship to Poet-- guess ill have to reread it to see if I'm right. What do you think of Mickey Haller?

hi Val,
I read a few pages of this and am hooked. What could be more scary? To not have complete hold of your facilties anc be acccused of murder. got to read aloha

Finished:

I like the Mickey Haller series so far. Very different character to Harry Bosch which is not a bad thing.

This was such an emtionally driven book, I really enjoyed reading it, so different from other books I have read.

Yes, it was excellent.

let us know what you think

Finished:

I'm about two-thirds through it and really hooked.

Rachel, ..."
Gone Girl was excellent.

I'm listening to The Eagle Catcher by Margaret Coel. I am a long time fan of Tony Hillerman and several people recommended Coel's Wind River Reservation mysteries. So far so good.

I've read a couple of her books but sometimes she gets a little preachy. But on the whole I've enjoyed them.
The Eagle Catcher is the first in the series so there seems to be a good bit of explaining going on, traditions, history, etc. The mystery is decent, Who killed Harvey and why, and I know nothing about the Arapaho so I'm finding it quite interesting so far.

Hi Marilyn, Lots of Dorothy Sayers fans in the group. I've really enjoyed her writing as well as the BBC production of most of the Lord Peter mysteries.

I met Stuart Neville at a book event and he really is a very pleasant and funny guy. Such a contrast to the books he writes.

Thank you Donna, I have read and reread Agatha Christie most of my life and was told Sayers was maybe even better but this is my first time with her. when really got me in the beginning of the book was when Harriet was talking about before the war, and I realized she meant the The First World War, that made me think that humans don't change that much at all Aloha

I love this series as well Stefanie - waiting for book 4 to arrive at my local library on audio.
Julie wrote: "Anyone here read Ngaio Marsh? She's also from the Sayers /Christie era. I would like to try them out sometime. Sayers is really good. Enjoy!"
I read a few of Marsh's Roderick Alleyn mysteries and the BBC did a good series of them as well. Very good and along the lines of Christie and Sayers.

I've read a few Ngaio Marsh stories as well, Julie and have enjoyed. I've also watched quite a few of the BBC series and it's excellent. You might try Elizabeth Daly as well. I've just started the first Henry Gamadge mystery and am enjoying.

the second time as my bookclub is meeting tommorrow to
discuss it. Liked it even better the second time. Read it about 2 years ago. Now I want to read the 3rd book in the series, but first I had promised to read Lisa Gardner's

Oh me too!! I can't wait to read the Rainie & Qunicy books!! She's a great writer!!

Very good book and series."
I've enjoyed the first two in the series. Very good series.

I'm with you Aiesha, I broke down and purchased the first book as well, I haven't read it yet and normally I don't let hype suck me in - but this time it did...... sigh..... I look forward to your review as well....
