Currently Reading? Just Finished?
Just finished Gone Girl
Gillian Flynn and I really like the book. It has so many twists and turns that I did not see coming (and that is unusual for me). I love the way the author weaves the characters' psychological traits into the plot. This one is a winner.
I recently read Turn of Mind by Alice LaPlante (http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/96...). It is excellent. An woman with dementia is accused of murdering her best friend.

I'm interested to see what happens when he finally gets back to Virginia after 61 hours-- he managed not to make it back through one additional book so far!

Gone Girl was excellent.
I just finished
which was very disappointing and am about to start
, a Henry Gamadge mystery, by Elizabeth Daly.
I'm listening to The Eagle Catcher by Margaret Coel. I am a long time fan of Tony Hillerman and several people recommended Coel's Wind River Reservation mysteries. So far so good.
Donna wrote: "I'm listening to The Eagle Catcher by Margaret Coel. I am a long time fan of Tony Hillerman and several people recommended Coel's Wind River Reservation mysteries. The Eagle Catcher is the first in the series so there seems to be a good bit of explaining going on, traditions, history, etc. The mystery is decent, Who killed Harvey and why, and I know nothing about the Arapaho so I'm finding it quite interesting so far.
Finally finished "the brass Verdict",, by Michael Connelly. It kept my attention the whole time. Good ending and nice wrap up. I will have to read more from this author.
I'm now reading The Ghosts of Belfastby Stuart Neville. It's about an IRA killer,Gerry Fegan, who served a dozen years in prison and is/has been continually haunted by the ghosts of the twelve people he murdered. Whether they are ghosts or just manifestations of his conscience isn't clear--but he's followed, watched, and plagued by them. I had some trepidation about reading this; I wasn't sure if it would be too violent and too difficult a book to read. Obviously, it's violent but the way Neville creates his characters--and the whole network of politics, social hope and unrest, skepticism, and manipulation of those less powerful--has me riveted.
I'm reading
the third in Martha Grimes' Emma Graham series, and also reading
, the first of his series with Estelle as the main character instead of Bill Gastner. I miss Gastner, so it's taking awhile to get into this one. But I love the Grimes' series and this one is not disappointing.
Just finished Relic. I'm currently reading Ice Cold. After that, I'm going to read Summer of Night. :)
I started Gaudy Night It is not an easy read at the start because of the old fashioned British English but once you start it you realize that the story is well worth it. This is my first Sayers mystery so I'm excited. Exquisite writing
Hi Marilyn, Lots of Dorothy Sayers fans in the group. I've really enjoyed her writing as well as the BBC production of most of the Lord Peter mysteries.

I met Stuart Neville at a book event and he really is a very pleasant and funny guy. Such a contrast to the books he writes.

Anyone here read Ngaio Marsh? She's also from the Sayers /Christie era. I would like to try them out sometime. Sayers is really good. Enjoy!
I'm hooked on Lisa Gardner books at the moment. I finished all of the D. D. Warren books, both stand-alones, & I'm working my way through the Rainie & Quincy books now. I loved the D. D. Warren series!
Stefanie wrote: "finished

I read a few of Marsh's Roderick Alleyn mysteries and the BBC did a good series of them as well. Very good and along the lines of Christie and Sayers.

I've read a few Ngaio Marsh stories as well, Julie and have enjoyed. I've also watched quite a few of the BBC series and it's excellent. You might try Elizabeth Daly as well. I've just started the first Henry Gamadge mystery and am enjoying.

Well... I've been suckered into reading Fifty Shades of Grey. I really had no intentions of reading it but a friend of mine wanted me to read it with her!! So far, it's ok. Some parts are annoying but I'm not sure what to make of it yet since it's still early in the book. I will surely write a review when I'm done. It'll have to be very good for me to read the other 2 in the trilogy!
Fifty Shades of Grey is all the talk at my work, hope its up to all the hype, can,t wait for your review.

I look forward to your review as well....
The more I read Gaudy nightGaudy Night the more I realize people's desires and worries don't change that much in one hundred years. fascinating read. Just wish I had more time

The TV series shown recently in the UK was enjoyable, unlike the Aurelio Zen series shown about a year ago.
