If a book already has multiple editions combined, how would one add another edition (that is not yet in the database)?

Jan,When you first type an author &/or title into the main search box, one of the links that pops up on the results page is "manually add books" so click on that and you get to this page:
http://www.goodreads.com/book/new
I understand how to manually add a book. My question is how do I add another edition to a combined list--see,e.g., http://www.goodreads.com/book/edition...
I have separately asked for guidance on an edition that either isn't in the list or that is incorrectly shown.
I think that you have to be a Good Reads librarian. You can post here what the book is. Or, you can try: Go to the book. On that page is a "combine editions" link. There, you'll see all the books for that author, mostly in alphabetical order. You can check the checkboxes and then click the combine books button. If that doesn't work, let us know what the book is/books are.
Jan, If you need GR Librarins to combine a lot of books, it's best to post the request to this thread:http://www.goodreads.com/topic/group_...
which is the Book Issues thread.
OK I just added: American Diplomacy, 1900-1950 (Mentor Books-Charles R. Walgreen Foundation Lectures)http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/33...
When I click on show all editions no others come up.
However there are 6 editions shown at :
http://www.goodreads.com/book/edition...
My added edition doesn't show up.
That's because the 6 editions the author is spelled: George F. Kennan and you have it spelled George F. Keenan. The author names have to be exactly the same. You can change the one that's the incorrect spelling.
Thank you-My TypoMy correction is at
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/33...
Still doesn't show up with the others.
Could it be that mine is the only one that says American Diplomacy, 1900-1950 (as opposed to 1900-50)?
I entered the title exactl as it appears in my book, which is consistent w/ LOC listings.
Jan, No, it's because it had to be manually combined. I just did that.EDIT: To use the auto-combine feature, the titles do have to be exactly the same, even re case and punctuation. But it's easy to use the checkboxes to combine different editions of the same book, even if there are differences in how the title shows.
EDIT AGAIN: And, adding a book won't combine it with the other books; one has to manually check the auto combine box for the author or check each box of every edition of a single book to be combined.
Yes, I went to the book (or author) and clicked on combine editions, then checked the boxes of the 6 already combined editions (1 checkmark) and your edition; then all 7 became combined. If none of the editions had already been combined, I would have needed to mark checks in all 7 boxes.
