Sandy | 449 comments These aren't PNR - some are fantasy or UF but here are some stand alone books that I've enjoyed.
Anything by A. Lee Martinez, Steelheart and The Demon's Librarian by Lilith Saintcrow, Folk of the Air by Peter Beagle, Greenmantle by Charles de Lint, A Fist Full of Sky and Spirits That Walk in Shadow by Nina Kiriki Hoffman, The Travelling Vampire Show by Richard Laymon, Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury.

Ez (ezrah-rah) | 219 comments I had a hard time trying to come up with recommendations that aren't part of a series at first. LOL.

War for the Oaks by Emma Bull (Urban Fantasy, paranormal, some romance)
Requiem for the Devil by Jeri Smith-Ready (UF, paranormal, romance)
Salt and Silver by Anna Katherine (UF, paranormal, romance)
Sunshine by Robin McKinley (Paranormal, UF, some romance)

And there are more on this list, but not all of them are romance.

Meg Cabot's Avalon High is pretty good :)

Part of March's PNR challenge is to read three books that are stand-alones. You might want to take a peek over there and see what the participants are reading for that category.

Have to reply FIRST because I LOVE Boston Terriers (have had two in my life that I adored), but also because I have a single title, LOVE FANG, the tale of a vampire with an infected fang who falls in love with his dentist, that I'd like to recommend. I know how you feel about series. I'm DYING for Charlaine Harris's final one (Dead in the Family), which I pre-ordered from Amazon but still have to wait for another months. Sometimes it's just nice to know that the end is the end. Thanks, Sandy!

Nairabell | 193 comments I've got a couple of recommendations, which are all PNR but varying types:

Angel with Attitude by Michelle Rowen
A Date on Cloud Nine by Jenna McKnight
A Greek God at the Ladies' Club by Jenna McKnight
What Do You Say to a Naked Elf? by Cheryl Sterling

There's also Witch in the House by Jenna McKnight which I think was supposed to be the start of a series, but never continued.
