Aloha | 4052 comments 1. Considering that I came from a long term relationship in which sex was NOT the problem...only a few months because of the separation.

2. Is making unpaid for copies from a copy shop I worked for in college considered stealing? I guess it would be stealing, especially considering the fact that I copied books. Then the answer is a big yes. Yep, book worm stealing to support my reading habit. Some things never change.

3. I used to eat raw duck blood sprinkled with chopped peanuts, mints and lime juice. But that was because my mom held the plate under my nose guaranteeing me that it is very nutritious. But what I really crave is balut, those fertilized eggs with the duck or chicken inside of it. I love sea urchin. I also crave sliced raw pork, rolled and fermented with garlic and black pepper.

------------------------

1. Duck, chicken, fish or tofu?
2. Do you prefer the main meal or dessert?
3. Would you consider a messy meal where you crack shells, or have to eat finger foods a fun first date?

2. Not by choice but it is beige (I'd rather it be a color where I can change the colors in the room) and has a lot of cute little owl things.

3. I love all kind of breads. I once had this red potato/rosemary bread once that was to die for.

message 1010: by Aloha (new)

Aloha | 4052 comments 1. Ever since my daughter took Chinese and I learned that the number 4 is bad luck because of the similarity to the Chinese character for "death", I've been avoiding making 4s of anything. This is a pain because you divide things by even numbers. This morning, I sliced each half of an orange to 5s. On the other hand, 4+4=8, which is the luckiest Chinese number. The Beijing Olympics was held on 8/8/08 for a reason. So...slicing an orange into 8 pieces is a good thing!

2. Glee

3. Viggo Mortensen. *SIGH* It's an obsession, I know.

-----------------------

1. Met anybody who is eerily another version of you, male or female? I just recently met someone online who has the odd combination of hobbies and interests that I have, that I didn't think anybody else has.

2. Do you believe in past life?

3. Are you a focused on one thing person, or do you have too many interests you'd like to do?

message 1011: by Aloha (new)

Aloha | 4052 comments You can propose marriage. But you'll have to go through a rigorous test, like sword dueling to the death, eating Balut,...

We can at least have dinner together. A dinner of caviar, grilled oysters with spinach and bacon, and sweetbreads sound heavenly to me.

message 1018: by Gary (new)

Gary (glmoore) | 87 comments OK, what stories do you want? I only have 1 sasquatch story, 1 good alien story but I have numerous ghost stories from the house I grew up in (the little ghosts' name was "Little Red Rosebud" and I went to a psychic for years that was dead on about alot of stuff she should not have know.
These are fairly long stories, so I will most likely write them off line and then paste into forum.

message 1019: by Aloha (new)

Aloha | 4052 comments I gotta hear about the sasquatch and the alien story. I've heard a lot of ghost stories, but would love to hear them. Sasquatch and alien first, please. *pulls up chair*

Wow, you guys picked the wimpiest story I have, it is also the only weird thing I did not personally see, I only saw the freaked out chick running down the middle of the road at 2 am.
The story is about done. I am writing it offline because I don't have time to do it in one stretch.
The ghost stories, stories of my psychic and the couple times I witnessed the flying saucers are much better.
Weird crap has happened to me all my life.
I will post when I get time. Starter went out on the Diesel and I am working on it in the snow, on my back, at the curb...bummer dude!

message 1023: by Aloha (new)

Aloha | 4052 comments That's like me and synchronicity. That stuff kept on happening to me, like patterns and odd coincidences.

message 1024: by Bandit (new)

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments Is it numbers, Aloha? you ever see that movie Number 23? kinda like if you're looking for patterns, you can find them anywhere

message 1025: by Aloha (new)

Aloha | 4052 comments Names and patterns, and people calling or emailing out of the blue regarding something you were thinking about. I started a synchronicity thread here, Bandit. It listed some of the moments. You'll see it's more than me looking for it or making something more than it is. Bizarre.

message 1026: by Gary (last edited Jan 25, 2011 02:35AM) (new)

Gary (glmoore) | 87 comments Well since we are talking about this, to no one in particular, do you believe your life is guided either by fate or a higher power?
I have strong christian roots and although I am definitely a sinner, I still believe I am guided by god.

message 1027: by Aloha (last edited Jan 25, 2011 03:10AM) (new)

Aloha | 4052 comments I don't particularly think that my life is guided toward a particular direction. I do believe that I am influenced by an unseen linkage with other elements, sort of like being part of the ticking of the universe. It does seem that people with eerie similarities to me kept on showing up in my life as if they were meant to be there. I don't look for them. They either found me accidentally, or somebody else introduced us, or we were put together by situations. And the combination of things I'm into is not that common. Not only that, but they have eerie synchronicity patterns to other occurrences in my life, such as similar birthdays, zodiac signs, or other patterns with other people in my life, or they were there at the right time to change the direction I was going for better or worse.

3) Is there one group you don't really care for, but haven't quit?

message 1029: by Aloha (new)

message 1030: by Peter (new)

Peter (goodreadscompetermeredith) | 25 comments Hi Lori, I just looked at this and thought it would be fun till I saw the questions and then I nearly ran.
1) Is there any one person you really don't like on Good Reads?
A) I don't know anyone...I'm too new. Wait! I know me and though I generally like me, there are times...so in honesty due to my near limitless ignorance concerning the people on Goodreads, the answer is me.
2) If yes, what group are they in?
A) Just a moment I'm still not over the answer to question 1 it is not easy being told you are hated...ok, I'm ok. The answer Horror Aficionados
3) Is there one group you don't really care for, but haven't quit?
A) Yes, Book Haven. The moment I joined, I received an e-mail...basically post or die. The pressure is getting to me.
1) What one piece of advice you would give to expectant parents, or WANT to give if you are going to pretend you wouldn't?
2) Favorite song from the seventh grade?
3) Who is the smartest person you have ever spoken too?(I don't count, but thanks)

message 1031: by Aloha (new)

Aloha | 4052 comments 1. I have a few that I find works well in raising a child:

A. Pick your battles. Constantly picking at things will make your child tune you out in all matters. Also, if you make a threat of punishment, you need to carry it out. With a child, action speaks louder than words. In short, less talk, take action when it comes to discipline. Tell the child, if you do this, then you get that. Then when the child does it, the child WILL get that. This helps the child to make the choice to not do that. It's the child's choice.

B. Let your child make choices and see the consequences, or be confident in his/her choices. See above. If it's a small matter like picking clothing, let your child have his/her way in choice of clothing matter without putting the child's decision down.

C. Lots of unconditional love and hugs.

2. Beethoven's 5th. I was a nerd. Still a nerd but in different clothing.

3. Brainycat, if you count online and off line. Unfortunately, I meet smarter people online. I guess being on a book site helps. If you thought you were brilliant and I ignored you, I'm sorry. You know how bad my memory is.

--------------------

1. Have you ever argued with anybody online?
2. What was it about?
3. Was it a waste of your time?
