1. yes. i don't change the mannerisms at all, but i do adjust what i talk about. with my co-workers (many of whom are gay men), i feel free to engage in a lot of so-called witty banter and discussions of reality tv. with my close friends (all of whom are pretty macho straight guys), i avoid that because decades of experience has taught me that my oh-so-clever commentary will often result in snorts, eyerolls, and unappreciative & sometimes upsetting commentary in return! they don't appreciate it when i act like oscar wilde, damn them. i think they've known me for too long and have been the target too many times. and discussions of reality tv brings out the fag jokes, so that's a must-avoid too in general.2. combination of the two.
3. described in answer one. i also am an elected member of a public policy body, so i adjust for that group as well - have to at least try to stay professional if i'm making motions, amendments, and whatnot.

i'll solve this conundrum by answering your questions and re-posting mine!
1. snape, always snape. i love snape.2. i really can't think of any, at least for today. many, many years ago i found myself crying to a guns n roses song called Don't Cry. wow that's shameful to admit. well i was going through a break-up at the time.
3. i was able to initiate a move of many public service categories that were due for a cut by the city dept of public health (including food for chrissakes) to a completely different, separate funding stream...and they were saved! this was millions of dollars in public funds going to the most needy. it was a controversial thing, i had to rally an entire council, and in the end my motions passed by only one vote. i got lots of angry emails and made some enemies, but i'm especially proud of that accomplishment. those services are still getting funded today, woo hoo!

Those are some X-ray eyes you got, Lee. Mark, the lady who cuts my hair does a great job with short, spiky cuts. I've had crappy ones before, though. Had to go back and make her cut it again.

1. My Kwan Yin jade pendant.2. Bald from when I was very little, like maybe 3 or 4? That's what they do in Vietnam when the kid catches lice, shave all the hair off. It was one of my first memory, touching my freshly shaven bald head.
3. I got rid of all my ugly clothing when I moved. I hate to say this, but my daughter gave me a scarf she made herself for Xmas before she left to go to her dad's. It was a strip of gold fabric cut with jagged edges. She had glued hearts and decorations on it. It melted my heart, but I don't know if I can wear that out. Unfortunately, that is the ugliest piece of clothing I own. Very cute.

*Aloha, that's a funny story about your daughter's scarf. It's very sweet, though. I wear and put out everything my son makes--for a time--because I think it's cute even when it's oddly made. If you wear it out, people will know it's probably a gift from a child.
