The Warlord Wants Forever is in an anthology with a S. Kenyon and J Black viking story. You will not be disappointed by any story in the anthology. The Warlord Wants forever is Myst's story and well worth the anthology alone. Really good reads!!!The Immortal series by Kresley Cole I believe is up to seven full length novels and not one of them are 'bad' reads. This is one series I get AS SOON AS it is released.

i thought we were reading the first book of the immortals after dark series, The Warlord Wants Forever or is that not the first.
I have already read this book and im waiting for the new release to come out as well. I love every single book! everyone i pick up i can't put down until i am done.

I thought that short stories in anthologies were usually extra to the main books and did not have to be read? (like the Sookie ones)
Someone who has read the books do we actually start with the short story or the first full book? There were confusing comments in the suggestions thread some saying to read it, others that it was not necessary??

So I'm correct in saying that The Warlord Wants Forever is a short story that introduces the Immortals Ater Dark series. But that the first proper book in the series is A Hunger Like No Other?
Should we therefore be reading the short story? Is this easy to get hold off?
Or do we go with the first full length book and catch up on the short story later as I saw in someones review the events take place at the same time.

I actually read a hunger like no other first. it didn't really mess up anything for me. I read the warlord wants forever when it was a free download. (after the kiss of the demon king) it would have been nice to read it first but i would not go all over the place looking for it, if i already had a hunger like no other.
LOL, okay, the read is starting with the first full length book A Hunger Like No Other. The Warlord Wants Forever is simply a short story that was originally available in an anthology, but can no be downloaded for free (someone must have the URL...). I've read all of the full length books, but neither of the short stories, although I plan to in the near future. You're perfectly fine starting off with this book. =)
The Warlord Wants Forever should technically be read first because it introduces the series and Myst and Nikolai play certain roles in A Hunger Like No Other. However, AHLNO is the first "novel" in the series whereas TWWF is a "novella" in an anthology. I totally agree, Jen. It was fast paced but not rushed. If you enjoyed that, you'll love AHLNO. Lachlain is my absolute favorite character, with Garreth second :) Of course, all the other characters are fantastic, too :)

okay, I just finished the short story The Warlord Wants Forever and I really liked it. The characters are awesome and the plot was very well written and extremely detailed. I can't wait to start reading AHLNO. I have it on my bookshelf waiting for me to start it.
I didn't like a hunger like no other.. Two friends highly recommended the series. and I'm gonna read those when I have nothing to read....Its just that the first book in the series is supposed to draw me in and this didn't. Emma just kept flip flopping and I didn't like that. At times she seemed weak. then she was strong again.
She likes him, then she doesn't. Then near the end she is in love with Lykae..
I don't buy it.
I have to say I loved this book, Lachlain and Emma are my fave couple. But i am very bias as Lachlain is just my fave man in the whole series so far!I liked how Emma went from wimp to chopping the king of the vampires (her father) into three pieces! She definately acquired a back bone in these books, even if she did give into Lachlain, but who wouldn't he is a very sexy Lykae!

That was indeed, and he tore of his leg to get out of those shackles, just because he smelt her nearby. Now that's devotion!
