Carla Hello-newbie librarian here. I'm researching an edition of this book. The original publisher is correct(Crowell) in the goodreads entry but the edition I have here is published by Harper and Row. The copyright page that this is a reprint from the 1977 ed. but doesn't give the year of the current ed. Theres no isbn, although one is given in my library's MARC record, along with the reprint year,1986. Do I change the publisher? Year? Anything?

You have an 1986 book printed in the US with no ISBN? Did you look on the copyright page?

Carla Yup. It says that it's a reprint of the 1977 edition, but that's it. Could it be that it's an omnibus of books that were originally copyrighted(is that a word ?)1920-1939?

Huh. I've never seen a book from the 80s without an ISBN, unless it was a book club edition.

I'd suggest creating a new edition of the work, and specify in a Librarian's Note that it's a non-ISBN work, so it doesn't get accidentally deleted.

Carla Could it be that it was a reprint? The copyright by both Crowell and Harper was 1977. Otherwise I'll attempt a recreation.

It could be. Certainly if you'd rather just list that edition (as-is) on your shelves instead of creating a new one, that'd work.
