Authors can already upload videos. Librarians can add them to authors' pages for those who are not members of the GR Authors group. On the edit page for an author there is an option to "Add Video."
Excellent! Just like becoming an author on bookreads, the way through is hard to see here sometimes! I am glad it is available! Thank you for your answer Rivka!Janie
Yeah, updated authors' guide and librarians' guide would be good things. The trouble is, GR keeps adding new features!
lol...yeah, sometimes simple is better, but I do enjoy GR as a whole. I've met a lot of wonderful people here in the short time in!Would love to read your reviews and work if your interested, you'll have to send me an invite, as I am sure your site is set for private as moderator. BAlls in your court!..lol..
:)
Formerly, I was able to add videos to my books' description pages. But now I can't find any such button! Has it been taken away or hidden? Can someone help me with this? Thanks.
You can add videos to your author profile page, but I'm not sure they could ever be added to individual book pages. From the relevant Help page: "The description field should not include any images or links to external sites."
For clarification, I was able to upload the video--it just doesn't appear on the book's page. Thanks for the quick response, Abcdarian. But I have videos on several of my books' pages, under the heading of "Videos About This Book".Will keep trying.
The book can be added on the edit page for the video.ETA: I don't know if the edit link is available for you. I see there are two videos not attached to a book. I've added the book to these videos:
https://www.goodreads.com/videos/1086...
https://www.goodreads.com/videos/1114...
On the page with your videos, you can see the books are attached: https://www.goodreads.com/videos/list...
Usually it can take some time before the book page is updated and the video is showing there.
Would you believe this is the first time I've ever noticed that feature! Guess I don't scroll down that far very often. Sorry for misunderstanding!

And Arenda, thanks for your help. I still don't see them, but like you say, it might take a while.
How do I edit my book trailer video? One of them doesn't have a cover/thumbnail image and I'm trying to see if I can fix that. Thanks!
This is not a Librarians Group issue, but one for the Author Feedback Group. Or you may wish to use the Contact Us link on the Help page. Librarians can help with issues pertaining to specific book records or most related issues, but have no control over general site functionality or author issues outside of fixing book or author listings on Goodreads itself. Closing thread.

Most authors have a YouTube trailer and would love to upload them here where it really would be appreciated by the public.
What do you all think?
