I have a book with shortened title and no info - I combined with legit edition (it's a new book with only one edition, just published in 2009 - I know the authors and own a copy)
but in combining it, of course, won't let me delete the useless listing.

Myranda, I tried to merge over the incorrect edition into the correct one, but I think that there may be a combining bug going on -- I'm going to write to support and ask them to take a look at it.

For the author name question, you can merge the authors together under one name, but you can't currently keep both names. In a case like this, I'd recommend editing "Oliver DeMille" to become "Oliver Van DeMille".

The bug is being looked into. But the fix another librarian suggested -- editing the work, saving, and THEN deleting -- seems to have done the trick.

It always tells me I need a SuperLibrarian because once I combine editions there are more than 5 reviews.

I did combine and edit the author pages as suggested, so now everything is under "Oliver Van DeMille":-)

Of course in doing so I noticed *another* useless listing;-P which is already merged with the proper ISBN listing - and therefore again has too many reviews to delete...

Looks like the ebook (available from his website) is a legit no-ISBN edition.

Exactly. That may change at some point, but it's what we're stuck with for now.

I separated them and deleted the duplicate editions so the reviews would combine with the appropriate one and then recombined the remaining addition with the correct book. - that's the procedure you should follow to get rid of multiple additions of the same edition.
