Maybe a Super Librarian can fix this. A GRs author has a book with her first and last name out of order. I tried to fix it, but got the message that this author is responsible for her own books.

Been seeing some imports from Amazon with first and last name out of order. Anyone else?

But FYI - the way you fix those is to make the author correction within the individual books - then come back to the empty author profile and merge it with something that exists - I always merge it with not a book. Not sure if we HAVE to get rid of empty author profiles - but I like to.

Oh, I tried to fix the individual book first, but got the response that this author is responsible for her own books and the system wouldn't let me change the name to the correct order.

I just fixed another author's book that had the same problem and had no problem with it. Some author's don't "lock" their books down, some do.

Anyway, thanks for fixing it, Melody. :-)

No, this is not an option they have. Editing individual books of a GR Author should be possible; editing/merging their profile can only be done by them and GR staff.
