I had a similar feeling....
So let's not check in until the end. Just read to your hearts content and then tell us how it was.
That is my plan if I do it again.

Athira (Reading on a Rainy Day) (readingonarainyday) Cindy and Debbie, I'm sorry this wasn't so much fun for you. But if the checking in was the issue, note that you don't have to check in at all, if that's what you are comfy with. The progress thread is up only if you want to pop in once in a while. It should not at all be about compulsion. There are quite a few participants who didn't comment on the progress thread, but just provided the final summary - that's totally fine. Whichever works!

It was the internet connection that bothered me, not the idea. I tried but it took so much time because of my rural living that I will probably skip even trying next time. I had a blast with the excuse to read all day and all night. I did about as good as I wanted to.

You did a great job for us Aths, just need a better connection.

Oh yeah, the connection can be a major downer! I used to have a pathetic net connection back home, that I wouldn't even bother checking in, so I totally understand your position! Glad you enjoyed the extended reading! :)

Athira (Reading on a Rainy Day) (readingonarainyday) One week after and it's stats time!! :)

Kudos to every one on this wonderful job! Even if you didn't do as well as you expected to, you still gave it all you can and that's what matters most! Heck, I know I did bad! And now I've learned a few tricks from this event - such as to sleep well right before the event, have green tea and not coffee, take a few walks when I feel sleepy, never read on my bed (Haha!)

Based on the summaries posted, I thought of just getting the following stats:

Roseann completed the most number of books at 7

Roseann again read the most number of pages at 1717 pgs

BJ Rose listened to audio books for the most number of hours at 6 hours

MJ actually spent the whole 24 hours on the read-a-thon! I envy you, girl! I'd like to know what your secret was!

MJ again has the longest reading streak at 14 hours

(I believe I checked the summaries very well, but I am still prone to error especially been so for the last one week. So if you did better on any of them, please comment below.)

Finally, applause to every one who took part and hope you will take part for this month's read-a-thon as well! Even if you can't imagine spending 24 hours reading, if you just need an excuse to read for a big chunk of time, hop on the read-a-thon bandwagon! :)
