April- Pick It For Me! Challenge
Gigi, thanks for the great recs. I think I'll either read Bitten or Outlander. Or maybe Wicked Ties. I've gotta hit the book store. And, it was no problem picking for you. I wouldn't want anyone to be without their recs :)
Gigi, I'm picking Elizabeth's Wolf (Breeds, #3). I'm trying to get through the early Breed books so this is perfect.
Bianca - I'll be reading The Bell Jar. It's always been in the back of mind to read this book. Thanks for the recommendation.
Well Gigi, I'll still read your book even though you're spreading the love around all over the place :)
Today i woke up to a wonderful note from a friend. It reminded me how lucky i am to have such an amazing group in my little corner. I want to say THANK YOU, to all of you who make this challenge fun for me. You, who are ready to step in and fill an empty spot if you see one. For overlooking when i make a mistake, truly am glad to have you guys around.
Carolyn F. wrote: "Well Gigi, I'll still read your book even though you're spreading the love around all over the place :)"LOL!!! Thanks Carolyn! I'm so excited that you're going to read Elizabeth's Wolf! One of my favs in the series! I'm DYING to know what you think of it.

Leah Let me know what you think. I've heard good things about all three. Especially, Outlander.

Thanks Rossy! You, Kasia, YZ and Mel make this group a lot of fun!

LOL.

Thank you, Rossy. You and the other mods make this community fun for all of us. I know we all appreciate all the work that goes into putting the challenges together and keeping them organized. :)

Hi Debbie!
Ok, I just got home from vacation so I finally took a close look at your recommendations...They're great, thanks! The two you choose from my TBR are actually on 2 of my reading challenges right now so I can't in good conscience use them for this challenge so I decided to read Garden Spells since I've never heard of it and its your favorite, and Ember because it looks like a lot of fun.
I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanks again
Penney, I hope you enjoy, I just finished re-reading Garden Spells for the monthly challenge. Loved even more the second time around. Ember is fun, especially being a free e-book - gotta love that. Can't wait to hear how you like either or.
Funny i just ordered Garden Spells and The Sugar Queen today. I had already bought The Girl who Chased the Moon, but haven't found the time to read it.

Thanks Harper, I have picked up Saving Grace, Cry Wolf and The Duke and I. Hopefully i will be able to get through these this month.
Thanks again.
Rossy wrote: "Funny i just ordered Garden Spells and The Sugar Queen today. I had already bought The Girl who Chased the Moon, but haven't found the time to read it."Love Love loved Garden Spells, I really liked Sugar Queen also. I am so wanting The Girl who Chased the Moon.
Then you should try B&N they had it on bargain today at around $5. You also get free shipping in order 25+.

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon - I just started reading it. It came highly recommended and I am really enjoyin..."
Hi Sarah!
Thanks for the recs - sorry for the imtimidation factor!
At the moment I'm going with Blood and Iron. I promise to let you know how it goes.
I'm saving Outlander until I've braced myself for it.
I have a terrible habit of not reading those books everyone says you should - hence why I haven't read any Gabaldon yet.
Okay Gigi, I loved Elizabeth's Wolf (Breeds, #4), I can see why it's a lot of people favorite of the Breed series. Great recommendation.
Yes, I had to order some of the Ellora Caves books through Amazon but I had the later regular publisher editions. It doesn't hurt the story a whole lot but I wish I would have read these in order.
Actually, i think it's better you started there since the first book is a like it or hate it kind. Now you can start the series in order Knowing the series is good.

Hi BH
Thanks for the excellent recs. I have decided to read Anyone But You because its not part of a series (I have huge piles to read perched precariously around my apartment so i don't want to get sucked into reading series at the moment). I have put the others on my tbr pile which I hope to do in the next couple of months.
I'll let you know how I get along with them and I both you enjoy my selection.
Dee, I have just finished Beyond the Highland Mist this morning. An excellent book written with a mix of many things that I love about a good story. It is all about love in the end, right? Who can say in what form or place it will take shape.
A mixture of fae, Scotland lairds, and a pinch of a 20th century woman who is running from her past to end up nearly 500 years before her time.
How could this happen? Fairies and heart-stopping true love.
You will have to read this book to find out how it all pans out.
4/12 Update: Congratulations! 36. Carolyn F. (365)-Finished
21. Sherrill (118)-Finished
18. Emily (268)-Finished
27. Annvelwis (801)-Finished

thanks, i'm glad you enjoyed! i have it in my teetering TBR pile, so hopefully I'll get to it soon! Gigi, sorry it's taken me so long to pick, but I decided I'm going to go with Bitten for this month :)

Ah, could have sworn I responded to this a week ago. My bad.
Sara, thanks so much for the recommendations!! I think for this challenge I'm going to go with The Host as this one is sitting on not only my virtual bookshelf but also my physical one. I'm thankful to have the nudge to read it, it's been on my TBR shelf for some time now. Thanks again! :)
I just finished Montana Creeds Logan last night. It was enjoyable and a quick read. Thanks for the suggestion Jaimie!!
LiliI've ordered Storm Glass but it won't arrive before the month's end. That doesn't leave me with much time to read it so I've read Ecstasy Unveiled by Larissa Ione instead.
It took me a while to get past a choppy beginning. Lore's a little wimpy (for an assassin) and Idess introduction on Mount Everest seemed unnecessary at best. Then the plot took off and I was swooped away. I lireally couldn't put the book down.
I had great time reading this.
Thank you!
Leah *~*Pherocious*~* wrote: "Gigi, sorry it's taken me so long to pick, but I decided I'm going to go with Bitten for this month :)"Great! Let me know how it is!
Carolyn F. wrote: "Okay Gigi, I loved Elizabeth's Wolf (Breeds, #4), I can see why it's a lot of people favorite of the Breed series. Great recommendation."*Gigi doing back flips* Yayyyy, I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I love that story. I love Dash. He's one of my favorite Breeds. You don't have to read the series in order, but I find that you can enjoy the series a bit more when you read them in order. However, I was looking at your list to see which earlier books you haven't read: Soul Deep, Wolfe’s Hope (Primal Heat Anthology), Jacob’s Faith and Aiden’s Charity. Of course, some are better than others and out of this group I loved Aidens Charity.
I have to admit. I wish I was new to the series just so I can be a first time reader again! LOL
Rossy ~*~ Ehrotic ~*~ wrote: "That's one of my favorites in the series! Are you going to continue the series, Carolyn?"
Rossy, you too!!! I actually have 4 favs. I keep forgetting about Aiden's Charity. My favs are Elizabeth's Wolf, Aidens Charity, Tanners Scheme and Mercury's War....oh, and now I can add Lion's Heat to that list- that makes 5 actually.
Mine: Elizabeth's Wolf, Mercury's War, Dawn's Awakening and this you'll find weird but Tempting the Beast was also one of my favs.
Not weird at all! Tempting the Beast was a good story. That was my first breed book. I love those primal breeds. Loved Mercury!
I have completed this challenge! Juhi, thank you so much for recommending If You Could See Me Now. I really enjoyed reading it. At first I thought it would be predictable but it wasn't. I have another Cecilia Ahern novel on my bookshelf that I want to read now.
Emily, i hope you like the rest of the Montana Creeds. I read the books when they were first released and liked them quite a bit. There are so few contemporary westerns out there. I'm supposed to start the McKettricks by the same author, but there are so many books it has taken me a while to buy them all.
Annvelwis, i hear there's a lot of smut in the Demonica series. Do you think it has more smut than story development or do they both compliment each other? I've been a little hesitant to start this series because some of my GR friends have mixed reviews.

Thanks for the reminder, i think i'll take it out and read it when am done with the Sarah Addison Allen's novels. They seem to be in the same genre theme.

Which one are you one? - Doesn't matter, they were both great. lol :)
I just have all three staring at me, haven't started any yet.LOLTry B&N for a copy of that book. Not sure if that one is in the bargain section, but i saw it for like $10 there.
Carolyn, I finished Lion's Heat. Thank you for recommending it to me. I loved it. It was a really good book. It left me wanting more. I can't wait until you get to Lions Heat. You learn a lot more about Jonas. I loved it. I'm dying to hear your take on it as well.
Gigi wrote: "Carolyn, I finished Lion's Heat. Thank you for recommending it to me. I loved it. It was a really good book. It left me wanting more. I do have Aiden's Charity in one of my April challenges. I'll read that hopefully this week.
Photojim wrote: "Elke, you seem to be quite the Lori Foster fan. However, I'm surprised you have not read Causing Havoc. You've read SBC#5 but not SBC#1? That is a situation that should be remedied..."ok, read
Causing Havoc loved it! I tried reading The Widower: A Novel but I couldn't get into it. Maybe because I had the rest of Lori Foster's SBC series waiting for me! lol! But in the future I will definitely try to read it through! I will try Welcome to Temptation instead! Thanks so much for the recommendations....for the first time being in this challenge it was great! Looking forward to next month!!
Glad you enjoyed it, Elke! I really liked Causing Havoc, though the last book in the series was not that great IMO. See you at the end of this month!
Elke, I'm glad you liked Havoc. I haven't read any of the other SBC books yet, but I'm sure I will. I'm still waiting for my book to come in from the library. Don't worry, it will be read! The Widower was just a different style that caught me when I was in a 'try something different' mood. It's not a romance novel so you kind of have to go at that one with an open mind.
Since you enjoy the Lori Foster's, I'm sure you'll like the Temptation book though. Great, fun, read. Besides, it will count as the top 10 pages of romance if you are doing the monthly challenge.
Jim, welcome back handsome! So did you finish your book for the month or did i imagine that you just said you finished The Widower? *mind acting funny tonight*
Been back for a couple of days, but nice to be missed. I have not finished my book for the month YET. It is still on it's way to me through my wonderful library system. I did finish the Widower, but that was not my recommended book for the month.BTW, don't worry about your mind acting a little funny. I know how it is to live in my own world sometimes. It's OK, they know me here. And if the voices keep telling you to kill, just remember the golden rule, "Women and children first". (That ought to put me pretty far down the list and surely somebody would stop you before my number came up.)

Thanks for the recommendations, Kingzkid.
I absolutely loved The Forgotten Garden and will probably listen to it again in the near future, so I'm going to choose The House At Riverton
And the Cathy Hake one sounds like fun, so I'm putting That Certain Spark on my hop-to-read-soon shortlist.
