jewelry nerd? I got nothing on this. I don't have "way to much information" about anything and there is nothing I love so much I'd go to a convention for it. The article made me laugh, though!
I'm a Trekker and a book nerd. I think I'm kind of a reverse music nerd. I embrace the non-esoteric music. :)
I'm the Sci-Fi geek, the Tech Nerd, the Music Snob, the Wonk, and the Sports Fanatic.
I suppose I will grudgingly add sports fanatic as well. Rugby nerd sounds like an oxymoron. Also, they should really add "derby nerd" because I don't know anyone other than hardcore gamers and religious zealots who so fully devotes themselves to a hobby. Even when they're out of uniform they still call each other by their derby names, and it's all they talk about.
After reviewing these nerds, I'm opting for a new category "the all-rounder nerd". I can see myself fitting comfortably in all but two of the nerd categories mentioned.
I'm just a spastic nerd. I can't believe he missed the AMINALS/kawaii/squee'r glomping fanatic category. That would be me.

Why is there no category for cat people who are obssessed with their cats? Yeah I know:
1. Cat Hoarder
2. Crazy Cat Lady
Gotta say, it's the book nerd (aren't we all here on Goodreads?) and the Wonk. Hate to say it, but it's true....
Definitely put me in the book nerd catagory. I do go to the gathering place of the Sci-Fi geeks: San Diego Comic-Con, but as much as I enjoy Sci-Fi movies and some shows I'm of a horror/fantasy/magical-realism/alternative world/speculative fiction geek. I'm also a musical geek. I probably have more Broadway musicals on my iPod that other music.
And an Egyptology nerd extraordinaire.

Invent your own category if none of these fit.
