Glad you found some goodies and very sorry i wasn't able to be there this year.
Went down to the Book Drive this morning. Great to see my "annual friends". Not much to do today. We set up all the tables that were there, about 75-100. There aren't any more tables coming until tomorrow morning so they sent us home. The prep work usually goes like this. Can't wait for some books to arrive.
Today we had a few books dropped off by volunteers so we sorted them into categories and started boxing them on the tables. So the real Book Drive has started. The big drop off is this weekend. The next two weeks will be pretty crazy down there but also lots of fun.
I don't do weekends so I will find out tomorrow morning. The paper said there were lots of cars dropping off on Saturday. I was by there around 10:00 today and there were only two cars in the line.
Day 1 of sorting. They estimate that we got 300,000 books. Not bad for two days drop off instead of the usual three. Lots to do in the next three weeks. Only found three books to buy today.
Day 2 of sorting. Still working in hard cover fiction. The find of the day was a Marlene Dietrich book mark along with three more books to buy.
It was a big day at the Book Drive today. We finished sorting the approximately 300,000 books that have been donated. Now all we need to do is organize them into sub categories within their areas and put them into boxes. I have been in the hardcover fiction the whole time and we have already done that. In fact we have separated books by author for about 25 popular authors. Now we just need to put he "pretty books" on top and organize under the tables. There are still a lot of books that can come out of our area and go over to Canadian fiction. If I wasn't worried about loosing my camera I would take a picture. It is an amazing site to see the boxes on top of all the tables and boxes pile three deep underneath.
Today we cleaned up a little so there is not a lot to do before the sale. Some areas are still organizing but or hardcover fiction is looking pretty good! Picked up another five books today (a total of 28 so far). Now I have to get reading

we are doing book sales for fundraising for breast cancer foundation in the CIBC Douglas and View branch. we desperately need book donations, would you consider to give away some of your old books? please let me know, we can pick them up anyday after work. please keep them for us to go pick up.
thank you so much.
