Allie, at least you got to read it! I am still waiting for my library to not only receive it but to start getting it ready for the readers. I am #1 on the request list but I hate it that they haven't received it yet!
I wrote this on another discussion folder, but I wanted to recommend "The Sky is Everywhere." I thought it was fantastic. Beautiful writing. If you liked "If I Stay" I think you'll love this book.
I'm so happy you liked it! I'm always nervous about recommending books.
There's books that I really liked that I wouldn't recommend to you though. Haha!
Just finished Spirit Bound and loved it! Although it is the 5th in the series the story still twisted and surprised me. I was afraid, like others that the story would go flat but thankfully it didn't. The only drawback? Major cliffhanger and the wait is until December.
Renae, I am still mad at my library for not processing Spirit Bound! I am #1 in the queue but they still haven't received nor processed it yet! I am dying here!
I just read
which is one of the Magic Shop books. I loved it! I think I still like Jeremy Thatcher better, but Jennifer's story is wonderful. I think I may have read it before because the final scene with the witch was extremely familiar. This one is going to become one of my permanent collection.
Re: Shiver I thoroughly enjoyed that book! I'm looking forward to the sequel, Linger.
I just finished Stolen by Lucy Christopher and highly recommended it. The subject matter is heavy, though, so it's not necessarily for everyone.
i read a while ago hush, hush. i recommend it to everyone. also everyone should read the cherub series, the author is british, just like me, and hes great!!!!enjoy
I liked Hush, Hush too, Laila. Have you read Shiver?
Hi! New girl posting! I'm going through a fairy-fase, just read "Wings" and "Spells" They's both good - and cute - books.P.S. Loved Shiver! Sam is... Sam. Dark, sensitive and with a furry problem. And if he's a potentially dangerous, supposedly big, kind-of-but-not-really-not bad wolf with an unnatural fear of dogs, so what? I still love him
Welcome to the best group ever Ellie! I joined a few months back and love it. I would love to hear what you thought of the ending of Spells. We were discussing it on the Wings thread under Non-Series books. Have you read Lament or Ballad? They're written byMaggie Stiefvater and definately worth a look at since you're in a fairy-fase.
Welcome, Ellie! I loved Shiver too. Totally agree with everything you said about Sam. :)
Becca wrote: "Just finished Incarceron. It was odd but enjoyable. A lot of people have said they were confused at first, but I didn't find it confusing, just different. If you don't mind wrapping y..."I enjoyed it but, I had a hard time getting into it. Once, I got past the first 40 pages, it intrigued me. Wish I could have seen a spark between Finn and Claudia as I did with Claudia and Jared or Finn and Attia. I also felt like there were a lot of unanswered questions such as the Queen's role in Incarceron, Saphiqqe's escape and I wanted to know more about Jared. But overall, I found it entertaining, I give it 3 - 3.5 stars and recommend it to both Middle school boys and girls who liked, "Maximum Ride" or "Graceling".
I finished
which is also named Hearts at Stake, a few books ago. I think that those who like City of Bones, Vampire Academy, or even Twilight might like it. It reminded me more of a lighter Vampire Academy. Looks like it's a series.
I just finished the Heir series -
,
,
- and I was a lot more impressed with the books now that I'm done with the series than I was when I was reading them. The story came together really well in the end. It was pretty awesome. I'd recommend them to anyone who wants a good fantasy romp with a light sprinkling of romance and some funny characters to keep you smiling while the action goes down.
I just read
. They're manga, but they read like a novel, and one that goes pretty fast. (Also it reads left to right and is not all dialog.) I loved it. It's definitely a teen paranormal romance. The hero is the new boy at school who keeps to himself and isn't interested in making friends--the brooding hottie. Miki is attracted right away (very well done) and sets out to force him, with her persistence alone, into the friendship he needs. What he's up to, the mystery of why he's such a loner (which turns out to be about what he really is) is a mystery that carries the first part of the series. Once they get over that hurdle, the relationship grows from there into a really nice romantic adventure tale. There's a nice trailer-type video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCFO4R...

Peep!!! You're killing me! (STILL) ;-)
You read Poison Study, and now you are gonna skip to Sea Glass? Did you continue on with Magic Study and Fire Study? They were a fantastic read! Snyder also put out e-books 3 or 4 of them I think, one on Valek, Yelena and Ari and Janko. I have all of the e-books on pdf if you want them.
I didn't get into thte Glass series, at all..
Hahaha, that was from a while ago. I read Storm Glass but didn't like it. I think I may have liked it I had read Magic and Fire Study. Hmmmmm, maybe I should read them. My book stash is running quite low. Yes, can you send them to me!?
Valek!
I didn't like Magic Study near as much as I liked Poison Study. And I started Fire Study not long ago and I think it's going to be the same senario for me. They're good enough reads though. And I just listened to Bloody Jack on audio and I highly recommend it! It was great.

I agree with you about both Poison Study and Bloody Jack. Mindy where are you? You have some new Bloody Jack lovers :)

Welcome Sheleen! Looks like we have a lot of favorites in common, in fact, all but three you listed. Oh, I just finished the Darkest Powers trilogy and loved it!!
Hi Sheleen! Love your favorite series! I haven't read Percy Jackson or Ranger's Apprentice though. You'll get all sorts of book ideas from this group. :)
Umm. Peep. I just saw this message, that you wanted the Study series short stories. I will PM them to you. Sorry. I'm not getting the annoying little dings telling me that I've been responded to. :(
Amy wrote: "I've just started buying 'The Sword of Truth' series by Terry Goodkind. Has anyone read that?"I have read all except for the last two books. The series starts out GREAT - but kinda fizzles about five or six books in. Goodkind is a good writer though, and I still want to finish the series. Great characters that I still think about.
Amy wrote: "I also just bought 'The Laws of Nine' - also by T. Goodkind. Read that?"No, I haven't read that one yet. Since I still need to read the last two Sword of Truth books, I figured I'd wait for the paperback on that one.
I just read, and I recommend John Cicero's Rainbow's Shadow And The Covenant Of WisdomWhat a ride! This book has such a great message. Everyone should find the path and experience the Covenant of Wisdom

I actually got that off of Amazon for $5.94 :)
I really enjoyed The Graveyard book, too. :)I just finished Raised by Wolves by Jennifer Lynn Barnes, and loved it! One of the best kick-butt heroines out there. :)
I liked Magic Study and Fire Study more than Poison Study... I also enjoyed the 1st 2 of the Glass series! Can;t wait for the 3rd!Finally read Vampire Academy and enjoyed it! Just placed the 2nd one on hold at the lobrary.
Beautiful Creatures was pretty good as well.
Amy wrote: "I actually got that off of Amazon for $5.94 :)"I saw that. However, I've found myself tired of lugging around hardcovers. So...I wait for paperback now.
Oh, I have a friend who's wife loved the Harry Potter and Twilight series. I'm personally bored to death (no pun intended) of vampires, so I couldn't suggest much beyond trying Hunger Games. Anyone else have other suggestions?
