Critique Groups

We had our first Word Weavers critique group this week and it was great. We had five participants, but we only had time to read material by three people because we ran out of time (we were at three hours).
I was wondering how to handle it when you get involved in one person's work and you know you need to move to the next one so everyone has time, but you don't want to be offensive. Also, we set the word limit at 1500. Maybe that's too high. What do other critique groups limit the word count to? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Lorilyn Roberts

The book suggests 30 minutes per person and stick to it. But that should be enough if people have read and commented on the manuscripts ahead of time. Whatever there's not time for can be picked up later from the marked manuscripts.
