Script Frenzy

Since this group is about setting a challenge for yourself and meeting it, why not take on a new challenge during Apriil? Why not try writing 100 pages in 1 month? If you do, you certainly won't be alone!

Having participated twice in Nanowrimo and once in Script Frenzy, I can testify that Script Frenzy is just as much fun, even if you don't win, and start out with no plot, and no idea how to format a script.

Well, you can write with a partner too. :) And it's okay if you didn't do well the first time. It's more about the experience than the product, anyhow. Last year, I only got to 20 pages, but I still had fun! I considered doing the YWP this year, but then I told myself that I ought to at least try to do the regular one.

so, what are your scripts going to be about? or do you not know yet?

No idea. I don't even know if I'll have time. Last year I stopped at page 3... and none of my friends are interested in writing a script with me. I may decide to do a fan-fic type script, as that could be lots of fun. Hmm...

Mine will be about Bloody Mary, Bigfoot, and perhaps a chupacabra chasing around (and trying to eat) a man who's name is Candy.

Oh man, I like both ideas. I need to formulate a solid one of my own...

Well, what format and genre do you want to do? Stageplay? Screenplay? Graphic novel? Audio play? And do you want comedy, tragedy, musical, sci-fi, or something completely different?

If you can't choose a genre, perhaps you ought to find some characters first, and let them determine the story. Google Images is great for this. For instance, what are the stories of these people, and how do they intertwine?

Dang Jayda... And I thought I was doing good w/ my 4 pages by 6:30 this morning... Then I stopped and went to school, haven't written more than a few words since. lol

Haha :) You are doing good! I just try to get ahead as quickly as possible, just in case I run into writer's block or something. Then I usually won't fall behind, because I'm already ahead anyway! :)

That's a pretty good plan. I'm going to try and stay at least a page ahead, so that I don't have to write three pages if I don't feel like it. Plus with school I might not have time... Ah, the troubles of being a student writer :P

I didn't get write any pages yesterday. I had a wee little accident...fell down the stairs and hit my head. Ended up at the doctor's office and hospital for most of the afternoon. Grrrr.

Worst part, doctor told me to stay off of the computer yesterday. So, today will be a catch-up day. Much better to write ahead instead of chasing after pages.

Thanks Dee! Glad to hear that you're (pretty much) okay, though I don't recommend taking another tumble down the stairs. Tumbles tend to be a bit painful. My script hasn't moved in a few days and I'm quickly falling behind. ><
