Additionally I just finished up Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom as well as Freedom (by Daniel Suarez).
Next up on my platter of things to read are the Circle Series by Ted Dekker; I keep hearing good things about this series so I figured it was time to finally read it. Also the new book in the Fate of the Jedi series is out and I am a sucker for all things Star Wars.

I had such good intentions to finish Infinite Jest this summer before the school year started. Maybe I'll pick it up again and call it Infinite 2009/2010!

Don't be afraid to dislike Wolfe. The guy is the best writer and the worst story teller in the business.

I Robot by Isaac Asimov (or better still http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/50...) - collection of short stories - robot based of course - all good
Also his stories about detective Elijah Baley - Pretty sure the first one is The Caves of Steel (http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/41...)
For comic fantasy you can't beat Terry Pratchett - early books were short - later books better written

thanks, I'll look into those. Now that I published my first book, I really should read more. :)

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter"
Let us know how that one is. It looks interesting and funny.

Ah, that is exactly what I felt, that the writing was beautiful, it just didn't GO anywhere, or at least took a very meandering path to get there!
