Laredo: The Firefighters of Station #8

Hi, I would like to use this book for a task that requires an original publication date. The kindle edition, which I read, has a pub date of 2/26/25. The paperback edition has a pub date of 3/4/25. Neither edition states it as a First Published date. Both dates are within the timeframe I need to use, but I would like it to be clear for claiming the task. I assume the First Published date would be 2/26/25 since I finished reading it from Kindle Unlimited on 3/3/2025? Or does that term go by the first physical edition?

I also have a weird situation in a series. Running on Diesel is the book I was going to use for most recently published and if you look at the edition dates, this is true. However, when I looked at the series from the series page it looked like the previous book had a later pub date. When I went to that book, the edition date was before first published date. I checked a couple of other books in the series and saw the same thing. But based on the edition dates and not the first published dates, my book is the most recently published. And I read the series in the order stated by the series.

I think I have this cleaned up now, so it shouldn't be as confusing. I used "FREE Series Order Checklist by Publication Date (recommended)" found on the author's page and Amazon, as well as GR.

The paperback was in GR, but the author listing was slightly off. Things have been fixed and merged, so now you should be able to find it!

Does a librarian have a way to confirm the page count for a specific edition?

Black Wolves and The Black Wolves are loaded as MMP. The first has 0 pages listed and the second has 480 pages.
The top paperback edition Black Wolves has 780 pages.
I'm planning to read the Kindle edition. The top Kindle edition says 624 pages.

Given the length of the Kindle and paperback editions, I was hoping to start it before the new season starts, based on the rule
"Pre-reading: Books longer than 499 pages (500+) that were started any time before the beginning of a challenge can be used to fulfill a task if more than half the book is read during the challenge" but this would only work if the MMP is more than 499 pages.

So is there any way to tell if the MMP is only 480 pages or what the page count should be for the one that is listed with 0 pages?

Also, can someone please load this Kindle edition from Amazon:

Based on my research and a post on the author's website in Feb 2025, there was only a trade paperback in print. Worldcat has that listed as 821 pages

The only place I could find listing the 2nd listed was Amazon and they say the book is out of stock. Plus, I don't trust Amazon's paginations, usually. That ISBN was not listed on WorldCat.

The 3rd one you linked (Kindle) is now merged with the other copies.

Given the current possibility that the method of determining pages for ebooks/audios will be changing for the summer, the paperback version will probably be used and have the higher paginations.

I added the pagination from Amazon and Penguin NZ. They both currently list as 480 for the ebook/hardback

Could someone combine the paperback version of A Right Shambles in York: A DI Adams mystery - magic, menace, & snark in a Yorkshire urban fantasy with the kindle/audio editions A Right Shambles in York and A Right Shambles in York: DI Adams, Book 4.

I imagine they've got seperated as there's a different subtitle in the PB version.

On a completely different note, Before Saying Goodbye actually has the wrong title. The cover picture has the right one: Before We Say Goodbye. Not sure I've seen that one before.

And even weirder Cold Company has the description for a completely different book. Is it possible to copy the description from https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7... (where the ASIN, as it doesn't have an ISIN, links to the book above).

The first book record was a mess. It actually contained information from two entirely different books by different authors etc.

However, I believe the book you read, if by MacInnes, was already in the catalog with the correct ISBN, etc. You will be able to find it on the book editions part of your second cited book.

If you actually read a book about cancer titled "Horizons 2013", let me know and I'll see if I can resolve that part.
