Bea Donna Jo, I added the book and combined with others but it would be useful if you had the publisher and date of publication, I assumed English.

Bekka (froydis) | 492 comments Hey there - could any of you great librarians add some information to this listing? I'm holding the book in my hot little hand right now.

The Titanic Murders

I'm not sure how to add the pages - it has 251 in the regular part of the book, and 24 in the epilogue. The cover is this:
http://www.amazon.com/The-Titanic-Mur...

I'm not sure what other information should be added!

thanks!

message 807: by Bea (last edited Apr 19, 2013 11:00PM) (new)

Bea Bekka, I added the pages but we do not use bookseller info for covers. You can scan a copy of the cover to your profile or perhaps the cover can be found at the publisher's site. I will look around.

ETA: Got cover from WorldCat. I am glad you included the amazon link so I knew which cover to claim. That book has multiple covers out there!

Fandury | 957 comments Can someone please have a look at this book.

Cast, in Order of Disappearance by Simon Brett

I have no idea to which book this description belongs, but definitly not to this Simon Brett mystery. This is the real description of this novel:

Who killed Marius Steen, the theatrical tycoon with a fortune to leave his young mistress Jacqui? And who killed Bill Sweet, the shady blackmailer with a supply of compromising photographs? Charles Paris, a middle-aged actor who keeps going on booze and women, takes to detection, by assuming a variety of roles, among them that of a Scotland Yard Detective-Sergeant, and the results are both comic and dramatic. As the mythical McWhirter of the Yard, he actually precipitates the crime; as one of the blackmailer’s victims, he finds himself in bed with the blackmailer’s wife; as a small-part player in a horror film (The Zombie Walks), he gets shot at by a murderer. And he arrives at the solution by way of the petrol crisis and an abortive attack of the German measles. It’s a light-hearted frolic that is, at the same time, a beautifully ingenious puzzle, and it fizzes with fun and wit.

No Goldy, no catering and no lowfat feast...

message 827: by Lindsey (last edited May 23, 2013 08:10AM) (new)

Lindsey (_lindsey_) | 498 comments Hi Kirsty,
I'm working on getting these updated for you. The thing about the covers is - we are not supposed to change covers for a given ISBN because there can be different covers for one ISBN, so what we do is create an alternate cover edition, leaving the ISBN number blank (since ISBN numbers cannot be used twice on Goodreads), and we put a note in the description that it is an alternate cover edition for ISBN: XXXXXXXXXX So, you can see that a librarian already did this with Birdsong - http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/93... That is an alternate cover edition of the ISBN you have, so if you'd like that cover on your shelves, you can switch to that edition. Same with The Hunger Games - this is the alternate cover edition for the ISBN you listed as well - http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12... I hope that makes sense. I make alternate cover editions for my books all the time. I hate that publishers use more than one cover for a single ISBN!

message 828: by Kirsty (new)

Kirsty | 85 comments Ok that's great thanks Lindsey. Sorry there ended up being so many!! x

message 829: by Lindsey (new)

Lindsey (_lindsey_) | 498 comments No worries! I completely understand the need to have accurate book data! I am the same way with all my books!

message 830: by Lindsey (last edited May 23, 2013 09:22AM) (new)

Lindsey (_lindsey_) | 498 comments All done! I think all the covers you linked are already the correct alternate cover editions for your ISBNs, except for The Two Towers. I found the one that goes with your ISBN here - http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16...

And to answer your question, about Bob the Cat - subtitle does belong in the title. Good catches on the authors' names in titles. Those definitely don't belong!

Let me know if you need anything else!

Ann A (readerann) | 1091 comments All of the sudden, Goodreads is not finding several book titles I'm entering. I'm trying to add their links to a thread. (GR found them just fine when I previously added them to my shelf.) This has just been happening for the last couple of days. Can anyone tell me how to contact Goodreads to ask about this problem? Thanks!

message 837: by Kara (new)

Kara (karaayako) Ann, this problem has been reported a few times this weekend. Unfortunately, Goodreads staff doesn't work on weekends, and as Monday is a holiday in the US, we probably won't be seeing any resolution until Tuesday.

In the future, if you would like to post about a Goodreads problem, you can check the Feedback Group: http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/1

message 840: by Lindsey (new)

Lindsey (_lindsey_) | 498 comments I think I had that problem too the other day. Here's what I did... search for the book on Google. Example: "burned ellen hopkins goodreads" (title author and the word goodreads) Go to the link and look at the URL. There is a number in it

goodreads.com/book/show/270807.Burned

Back to your post - click the add book/author link, and add any book whatsoever to your post. Replace the title in brackets with the title of your book, and then replace the number in brackets with the number you found in the URL.

Lindsey (_lindsey_) | 498 comments Hi Sandra,
