I'm checking my e-mail after getting back from vacation and found out I've got The Lotus Eaters coming.

Paula that it is, and what I am learning on here is how exciting it is when your friends win. Even if it is something you really wanted, somehow it doesn't matter as much if it's one you call friend. I love sharing other people's joy. I don't think they mind. It is exciting.

"Me too! I am really excited about this win. I was a real fan of "Rinty" when I was a kid. I never knew he was actually a war hero.
Make that me three!!! I won Rin Tin Tin, too! I loved that show and that blond boy, Rusty who owned Rinty. And wasn't Forrest Tucker the sargeant? Just a fun show! Much better than Lassie! LOL
Katherine wrote: "Make that me three!!! I won Rin Tin Tin, too! I loved that show and that blond boy, Rusty who owned Rinty. And wasn't Forrest Tucker the sargeant? Just a fun show! Much better than Lassie! LOL[b..."Rinty over Lassie any day! When Timmy would 'fall in the well' Lassie would bark. Rinty would have actually figured out how to get him out of the well! LOL
I liked Rinty, but I LOVED Lassie! I was always afraid of German Shepherds when I was a kid and I'm still leery of them as an adult. I used to have a male Collie. Since all the TV Lassies were actually male dogs I thought about naming mine Lassie, but my husband wouldn't go for it!
Yeah, my husband doesn't like German shepards either--my brother's dog, Wolf, was such a baby--I loved him. Melodie, guess he wouldn't like a boy named Sue either, huh? My sister named her female dog, Jake but always said her real name was Jakealin--not Jackalin but Jakealin--LOL
Thank you other Karen! When I was working my best friend at work was also named Karen. We took turns being the "other" Karen. LOL
Wowsa I won three books today:The Dog who Came in fron the Cold by Alexander McCall Smith (one of the ones I really was hoping for)
Charlie Joe Jackson's Guide to Not Reading by Tommy Greenwald
oh I am so sleepy making mistakes, sorry. 3rd book:The Devil Colony (a Sigma Force Novel) By James Rollins
*hoping some of the luck rubs off on Heather L

Looks like you hit the jackpot! Congrats!!
Thanks for the luck Karen B, and congrats on your triple win. Just checked my giveaways, and there is one book that draws tomorrow, two on Thursday, and six over the weekend, so maybe there's a chance yet this week.
*crossing my fingers Heather* If you see me list one that you would have wanted please let me know and I will be glad to pass it on to you when finished. I am telling you this list is good luck, and the goodreads faries seem to keep on touch of what we talk about. *LOL*
That goes for anyone else, if you see a book I win on Goodreads and would like it when I am finished with it, I probably will be happy to send it along. The exceptions will be those that I want to keep (Like a book of Poetry I recently won, and a book or Gratitude Quotes) or books that the author has personally signed for me.
I will post a list of what seems to be up for grabs later in the week. Right now I am a little confused about what was a Goodreads win and what came from Library Thing. *LOL*
Dominance: A Novel -Won this new book this morning--looks scary--won't read it at night home alone, I don't think!-
Congratulations Katherine. Hope you like it!I got my copy of "Iron House" John Hart from UPS last night. I'm looking forward to getting started but have a couple in front of it that I need to read first, darnit! LOL

"Congrats! I really wanted to read that one. I hope you enjoy it!
OMG--TWO! todayComing Up for Air
and Only Time Will Tell
My list of books to review is growing apace!!!
Katherine, congratulations! I am so excited for you. I have a basket full of to review books now. It's funny, I do like winning the goodreads first reads in Paper DTBs (Dead Tree Books) and will never give them up for my Kindle e-books. Let us know after you've read these. I would particularly be curious about Jeffrey Archer. I was in the doc's waiting room one day and there was an elderly couple who each had books and we started a discussion about books and they recommended Jeffrey Archer. Especially one of his first ones.
Another me too! I also won Only Time Will Tell. I've added an initial but I'm still the "other" Karen!
Okay, I thought we were getting yet another Karen on this list. Which is fine by me. I think Karendenise posts on here too. Actually in Goodreads I selected raggedy11 as my handle but it never picked that up; I don't know why. Now if I changed it people would get confused.Karen M and Pauline, congratulations. Is that a romance book? I don't remember signing up for it myself and am trying to figure out why. Isn't it funny when more than one person in this group wins the same titles. I am telling you they monitor our group.
That means Heather you have to post everyday that you want to be a goodreads winner!
Congrats to all the winners. For those who were curious Never Knowing was a great read. I think it officially comes out on the 5th.
Thank you. And for those of you who still want to try for the giveaway it's going to be given away again on July 4. 25 copies are up.
Is it really true that if you write more reviews you're more likely to win? Because I've seen some winners who don't even have any books added. I write reviews and have won a couple of times, I was just wondering if that was true, I thought it would be random.
I think it's both. I am behind in my reviews but I posted a review of one of my Giveaways last Sunday and then on Monday I won three books. They say too that how active you are on goodreads factors into it.There was a lull where I wasn't getting anything and that was a time when I had posted no reviews for at least a week. But I have won quite a few on here and I do think it has to do with my initially trying to post the reviews frequently. Someone on another list also told me that when you a book arrives immediately add it to your currently reading list and read at least 10 pages and put a beginning review. Then when you finish the book you just edit that material. I think that worked for me. There is a group just about First Reads Giveaways but I haven't gotten any messages from there in a while.
Karen B wrote: "Okay, I thought we were getting yet another Karen on this list. Which is fine by me. I think Karendenise posts on here too. I don't think it's a romance or a thriller. LOL Guess we'll have to read and find out.
Karen M wrote: "Karen B wrote: "Okay, I thought we were getting yet another Karen on this list. Which is fine by me. I think Karendenise posts on here too. Does anyone else feel like me? Do you get excited when other people post that they have won? It's almost as if I have won the giveaways, especially if it's someone I have seen posting in other Cozy discussions. Such a nice feeling to share in people's happiness.
