Very nice! One of my favorite series!
Congrats Diana! Krista Davis' Domestic Diva is one of my favorite series. I can't wait for it to come out next week. I know you will enjoy it.
Thanks for the comments everyone! Hubby wasn't as excited as I was, but I knew you would all understand! ;-)))

Congratulations that is a good series
Whoo! Received word today that I won the new Rosato & Associates, Betrayed. Guess I'll have to do some catching up on this series, as I still have Think Twice in Mount TBR (guess that'll be my "T" for the "autumn" challenge) and just realized I missed book 12, Accused (and there's my "A" book). I'll have to look for the latter at the UBS this weekend.
Speaking of, if anyone has a Half Price Books in their area, they are having an extra 20% off storewide sale this Thurs through Mon.

Thanks!
Got an e-mail this morning that I won a copy of
If You've Got It, Haunt It! I've had this one in my cart at Amazon, so now I can take it out!
Congrats..it's been ages since I entered for anything...must do that now! Nothing better to win than books (or money to buy books, I suppose)!
I had quite the surprise in my mailbox yesterday -- apparently I won The Sound of Glass by Karen White last month. I had no idea as I never received that "Congratulations!" notice we all love to see in our inbox. Looks like I'll be changing my "S" title in the "Spring" challenge! ☺

I got a notice a week or so ago that I won a book about Custer & the Little Big Horn. I think DH might like it!
Thanks, Melodie! I'm surprised I didn't get a notice. That's not something I would delete without opening. I hope DH enjoys his book on Custer!
I wasn't sure where to put this, but I wanted to remind you that "How Now Purple Cow" will be a GR Giveaway through tomorrow (the 20th).

Finished this over the weekend and loved it. Definitely one I would read again.

Anyone won any good GR giveaways recently? How's our group luck holding out these days? The last win I received was Betrayed by Lisa Scottoline, spring of this year, which was really good.
I've just been skimming current giveaways and so far have entered for the newest Scottoline, but passed on a Jenn McKinlay (library series) as a) it is in hardcover and b) it looks like I still have three books to catch up on in the series -- it's best to read GR giveaways right away, and it's unlikely I'll get to the rest in this series any time soon. I HATE reading series books out of order.
Which brings up a good discussion question. How likely are you to enter giveaways for books in a series? Does where it falls in the queue matter -- meaning, if it's say book 17 in a series you've never read, would you still enter to win? What about format? Does whether the book is in paperback or hardcover matter?
Since I prefer to read series books in order, I generally pass if there are a lot of books I need to catch up on in a series to get to the most recent one. However, if it's a first or second in a series, I am more likely to enter.
Also -- and with few exceptions -- if all the other books I have in a series are in paperback, and the publisher has suddenly switched to hardcover, I will take a pass, since those won't fit on my shelf with the rest of the series. I'm more likely to enter contests for hardcover books if they are single title releases, or I have the rest of a particular series in HC. Your thoughts?

Heather L wrote: "Anyone won any good GR giveaways recently? How's our group luck holding out these days? The last win I received was Betrayed by Lisa Scottoline, spring of this year, which was reall..."I enjoy a series where each story is written like a standalone. That way I don't have to read them in order, although if I find one I like, I usually go back and start at the beginning.
I'd enter giveaways, but for the past several months I've had very little reading time. I hate to buy a book and have it sit on a shelf, unread.
Since June I have been very lucky. I have won 22 books. I haven't read all of them yet, but I'm working on it.
MarjaL The time factor is a good reason not to enter current giveaways. I've gone through periods myself where I've been so busy it's hard to keep up with the normal day-to-day stuff, let alone extra tasks or unplanned reading.
Roxann: Wow! That's an awesome streak of luck. I went through a 2-yr slump where I won no books here, then suddenly won two back-to-back. Now it's been several months again.

Yay for you!! I love winning!! I won Fated by Sarah Fine and Alice in No-Mans-Land by James Knapp!!! last week
Karen M wrote: "Heather L wrote: "Anyone won any good GR giveaways recently? How's our group luck holding out these days? BUT I'm getting behind reading all those books, plus some cozy mysteries I purchased.
I do the same thing Roxann, win a couple and then go buy a couple. Not including the challenges I joined for this month!!
Tina wrote: "I do the same thing Roxann, win a couple and then go buy a couple. Not including the challenges I joined for this month!!"I'm always looking for books-if I can 'borrow' one from a friend or co-worker I will do that also. My sister has given me bags (and I do mean bags) of Harlequin Intrigue or romance suspense books to read. I'm not into romance novels, but the books are free.
I do go to yard sales sometimes. Or the Annual Humane Society book sale. All books .25 cents each. Thrift store. I have so many everywhere around this house it takes me a day to find one I need!!
Karen M and Sherry: Congrats on your October wins!
Tina: I hope you enjoy(ed) Corrupted. Whether I win a copy or not, I will eventually read it, as it is part of a favorite series.
Roxann: Free books are always good, even better if they are within a genre you enjoy reading. My sister brought up a bag of books when she visited last weekend, most of which I already had. I will donate the others to Little Free Libraries near me -- I just need to remember to take them with me when I walk. It never fails that I'll get a few blocks from home before suddenly remembering the stack of books I wanted to donate.

Won On Goodreads. Received in the mail today,
Stolen Light by Claudia Riess. Seems like a heck of a mystery with lots of adventure and suspense. Not really a cozy but still a mystery.

Hi, my name is Angela. I just starting entering for the giveaways, its such fun. I wondered how do you know you won something? Does the notification for to private email or GR mail? I never won anything in my life so am hoping I will soon. I am very new to writing reviews as I am a reader not a writer, and am reading tons of reviews to kind of learn how. Any tips for writing reviews? I love this site am already addicted!!
I just write what I feel. Characters, storyline, slow or fast, interesting or boring. Type of wording they used, if you liked it or not. funny sad. It's doesn't have to be professional. It's a review for all us regular folks to read and decide if we want to buy it. Like you were telling a friend about it.

I won "The Diva Wraps it Up" by Krista Davis. I've read most (maybe all) of the others in the series and they are fun reads. I hope this one is as good. I'll let you all know once it arrives and I've read it!
