Haha. I'm not telling you because the best part of the books is that you have no dang idea if they're going to kill each other or kiss each other. Just when you think one will happen the tables flip....constantly!

It is good in audio. I just did a re-read of it in audio for the second or third time. So good!

Audible has the whole series on sale for @$9 a book this month so I snatched them all up. :-).

message 169: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments I have them all, but I did grab 4 or so books at the cheap price. I have a love/hate relationship with their sales. Love it because cheap, but hate it because I end up spending too much! lol

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments Chakara wrote: "if this turns in to some gush fest I'll be highly disappointed."

No, it is a lot of pack politics, seen from members of the pack, from Curran, and from Kate.

message 177: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 1272 comments okay thanks everyone :) I went ahead and purchased Magic Rises. As long as it doesnt get mushy like Cat and Bones Im good.

message 178: by Tya (new)

Tya | 846 comments Ok. I'm in book one and am loving it. From the very first time this Curran character pops on the page I was all...why...hello there. But I'm confused. Vampires are super creepy and gross and yucky. But then there are vampire navigators....? And these people are immortal/live to be several hundred years old? World. You don't make sense to me. I keep falling asleep when I read this book and I think I'm missing out on explanations.

message 179: by Whitney (new)

the vampires will be explained even better as the books move along. from what I understand the navigators can get into the minds of the vampires and kind of use them to do their bidding. A vampire can go un navigated and if there is a wild on or a navi isnt strong enough to hold the mind control they are very dangerous.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments The first book is little jumpy, but things do get explianed in depth later. Especially in later volumes.

I struggled a lot through book 1. It was only the last scene that made me keep reading and I'm glad I did.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments Book one was hard for me too. It had promise and that ending is really what saved it.

message 183: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 1272 comments anybody else notice that the new book is coming out in hardback and also that the e-book is like 11 dollars. What is urban fantasy coming too? I know it's better for the authors but for my pockets not so much. And then the proportions will be all off on the shelf now :(.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments Ah! I was wondering when they'd switch this series over to hardback releases. ;_; Bummer.

message 185: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 1272 comments if they're going to do that they should atleast re-release the mass markets in hardback or trade paperback so they'll match up.

On the author's blog they said that the publisher wanted to go to hardcover for the last book, but they pushed them off. In a way it is good for them, they are getting big, but for those that like books all in one format it is bad.

yes indeed however im loyal so i guess ill have to pre-order and deal with the non matching lol

message 188: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments I've been buying their books in audio, I love the narrator they use, so no issues for me.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments I'm safe for now, I ran out of space and have been trying to get things in ebook for now.

I believe they actually did the rerelease in hardback for a number of series. The Hollows, Brigg's, Ward, and a few more.

My thing is that the art no longer matches with my first editions!

I can never find the early ones in hardback. like the mercy books so I think ill prob go with ebook as long as the price is right or library.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments That's how I am sometimes about ebooks. I need more space . . .

Tya | 846 comments Oh. my. goodness I'm loving this series! Behind the times, as always, but I'm loving Kate and Curran. I'm in book 3 and am biting my finger nails over Boy Wonder. My favorite scene so far, of all 3 books is Kate learning that Curran giving her soup in book 2 had ulterior motives. Cracks me up!

Tya | 846 comments I just finished Magic Rises and I loved it. (view spoiler)o, I don't think I like Julie.(view spoiler) it took me awhile to get through the first chapter of Rises because it was so Julie heavy.

I love that Kate and Curran take the time to talk their conflicts out. This book really reminded me of the book in the JD. Robb series were one of Roarkes old flames comes back trying to stir up trouble. All in all this series brings on the happy times :)
