Thank you, I am aware of procedure. I was adding them to this thread (1) for anyone else who might want to help work on them and (2) to get my question answered, if someone knows the best version to use of all those variations on, presumably, the same publishing company. Many of the books do not appear to have an author name otherwise.

We should only verify that all the book listed are truly under this "author's name"

Strangely, those books only exist on Amazon. I check WorldCat and they were not there!!
Not all books are listed on WorldCat.

WorldCat is one of the best databases, but as Sandra said, it does not have everything. Especially non-English books. I don't know any "perfect" databases.

this one http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/84... seems to have Nemo as author, but I suspect its not the same Nemo that is illustrator to the other books

With a few exceptions Springer is the publisher. It is a long list though. I am currently correcting as many as I can.

Hi, New here. Second attempt to mention a problem with John Murray.
There is one John Murray who wrote just one book (so far) "A Few Short Notes on Tropical Butterflies". His book is listed with the works of the other John Murray, author of several books about religion.
