Yup, it's true. Tornados don't usually hit major cities because the tall buildings prevent the wind from forming the cyclone.

i think so... we're sitting in the basement right now and im talking to my other friend and a tree just fell on her house!! and shes freaking out and my friend just went upstairs to check the sky and she said it looks green which means theres a tornado!!! and i think someone died!! im on my iphone and i hear ambulances!!

Green mean there is hail in the clouds. tell your friend to be smart and stay down in the basement with you till it's over. If you play smart you'll be fine. Just don't do dumb things like trying to go look at it!

I'm from Dallas. We have tornadoes here all the time. I know what I'm talking about. Texas has over 100 tornadoes every year. We have 5-10 here in Dallas every year. I'm still alive. I just don't go doing stupid stuff. Take it seriously and stay calm.

ok ok we're both down in the basement now and we're watching the weather channel on my iphone and it says that there might be hail and the storm warning should be over by 8:30!!!

Okay. Just be cool. It's dangerous stuff, but you should be just fine in the basement. Just relax and it will all blow over (literally). They are scary, dangerous storms, but people survive them all the time. It's really rare to have one so far north on the coast, so you'll have an exciting story to tell everyone when it's over. You can be the old grandma someday telling all the kids, *grandma voice* Well, when I was your age we had this here tornado come through the neighborhood...*they all die of boredom waiting for the story to end* Thunk!
