In a flash, its large paws swiped the head of the serpent off its nose, but the puncture wounds and the blood now streaming from the holes are clearly visible. It bounds to the serpent, crossing the distance between them faster than what seems possible, and slides to a halt, facing the snake head on. Just then, its eyes narrow to vertical slits, as it changes tactic and, muscle churning underneath its silky, gleaming tan fur, leaps straight up and sinks his lethally long claws into the raven's talons. The raven shrieks as they crash to the ground in a writhing mess*

((Sorry for the delay, I can't help eavesdropping on my mom's phone conversation.. <:D ))

* A hideous snarl emits from the lion's throat, more guttural than before as the python's venom works its way into his nervous system. His tail starts twitches uncontrollably, but he still is possessed of great strength. A roar so booming that it echoes throughout the castle rises up from the lion's mouth as he rears up on his hind legs and twists his enormous neck to confront the snake. He proceeds to perform a rather queer dance as the lion jumps up and spins on its heels, thrusting his back to and fro, in an attempt to release the python's vice grip. Suddenly, the lion lurches backward, and in a burst of speed, slams the snake against the wall, making it crumble somewhat. Amongst the settling dust the lion shakes himself all over, as if wet, and immediately turns himself around to face the enemy once more. Now the snake is missing one of its front fangs, because it has been lodged in the lion's neck. He pants heavily as he waits for the serpent to stir.*

* A lingering hiss erupts from the lion as he tries to retreat and swat away the serpent, but his feet keep getting entangled in its ingenious snare. He's forced into a sitting position as he tries to control the flood of pain overloading his senses. He sits there passively for several moments that make Airi's heart wrench, but she's too proud to help out the lion artificially, convinced that it can make a comeback on its own. The lion looks devastatingly weak and Airi starts chewing her nails, but just then a gleeful squawk is heard from above as a big crimson bird swoops down and circles around the lion, droplets of clear liquid dropping onto him as the bird makes its rounds. The lion lifts its face upward and gratefully receives phoenix tears, which sizzle and heal upon hitting his numerous wounds. The phoenix gives a fiery cry as it soars back to the Headmistress's office, and the lion raises one corner of its lips, as if smirking at the serpent. Revitalized, he pounces directly at the serpent's head, and in what feels like a slow motion fall, he uses the force of gravity and his own grand weight, to come down hard on the snake, severely grazing its flesh with its extra retractable claw.*

WHAT WHAT!! *The lion raises his paw for a celebratory high five but Airi cringes, due to the fact his claws are still protruding, then the lion makes a low rasping noise that sounds strangely like a laugh, and retracts his claws so that Airi can joyfully proceed with the high five* *Airi starts moonwalking as the lion does a victory lap around the Great Hall, then fellow Gryffindors go up and pet it until it fades back onto the banner*
