Joeanne (mszminne) | 40 comments where are you guys finding your inspriation? Are your ideas thought about, instantly there, coming from your dreams, ect.
Put it here (not you ideas, but where it comes from)

RedPath | 853 comments My ideas come from al sorts of random places. But as it keeps pestering me, I try to develop the story and logic and plot before I start writing.

It's always a little different, but it's roughly along those lines.

Summer | 193 comments Quirky or irregular things, child hood fantasies, dreams, the shower, and music. Whenever I need inspiration for a character I'll probably look up some sort of music.

Joeanne (mszminne) | 40 comments Thats interesting , but as weird as i am i have nightmares ever night and i pull my ideas from them.

message 5: by Summer (new)

Summer | 193 comments You have nightmares every night? I'm sorry, I have a nightmare on rare occasions but not every night. *shivers*

I've never had a nightmare.

Summer | 193 comments !!?? Craziness. I get really bad nightmares sometimes. Like I'll wake up and litterally jerk up into a sitting posistion and start crying. And the worst part is you can never remember what your freaking out about!!!

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

Some ideas come from dreams, but I don't usually use them. I get most ideas from other people's stories or from thinking about it.

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

At one point I got really excited because I had a dream from the perspective of my character. He was practically handing me things on a platter and narrating what he was doing. But then when I woke up I realized what he said was total gibberish and would get me locked up in a white rubber room if I wrote it...

Laura | 911 comments Usually I get ideas from music...or other books. Or weird experiences, or TV shows, or simply observing people in life.

Uh... I get my ideas from anything, really. And I mean anything.

message 12: by Jayda (new)

Jayda | 2761 comments I'm the same as Kriss.

Ellen Yep, same as Kriss. It's really funny what some little tiny object can be the inspiration for a novel. Lol.
-And this is already a conversation under the Inspiration and Ideas section. Lol :D

Isaac | 8014 comments Well, my romance novels come from (this is really cheesy, prepare youselves) all the passionate feelings inside of me that I can't share 'cause no one I actually like has a romantic interest in me... it's all the ugly boys.... *shudders*

message 15: by Laura (new)

Laura | 911 comments *glomps* It's okay...they'll grow out of their ugliness soon enough. ^^ haha

Same here.

I sure hope so... but none of them are going to be the man of my dreams, because frankly, I can't even write and describe a character that would be the man of my dreams. The peoples I write about in my romances are basically just parts of the man of my dreams.

I have no man of my dreams, being the unromantic freak I am.

I get my ideas from my friends. I basically watch them, and then when they do something funny, it goes into a story. I also get ideas from the randomness of my brain. Like I'll be writing and I write something completely weird and random, look back, read it, and say where in the world did that come from?

message 20: by Elliott (new)

Elliott | 22636 comments Mod
Yeah, it's really weird and fun at the same time. I was working on one of my stories, and my main character, Brooke, was walking through a hall in the hospital, I was trying to be all cool and describey so I described a cute little girl, and boom Brooke's playing Lego's with her and offering to be her new babysitter. It turned out well, but I have no clue where it came from.

I've found out that the best way to get ideas is to write. Even when you're stuck if you just sit down and start writing ideas will come.

That's sad, I pour out all those feelings into my writing, being the ugly person I am today. Grr, I HATE it when my dad says he'll have to buy guns to chase boys off when I've only been asked out twice in my entire life... which I greatfully refused, as they were more ugly boys.

But see, you're kind of doing what people do to you. Denying them because they're ugly.

message 24: by Isaac (new)

Isaac | 8014 comments Thanks, Lav, for that delightful imput.
