I finished that not long ago and enjoyed it. It's better than some of her more recent ones. The ending is really surprising, more like in her earlier stories. I gave it 5 stars. she's a favorite of mine too.

Another favorite that I just finished reading was Ellen O'Connell's Beautiful Bad Man. Excellent. No cookie cutter plots from her! 5 stars.

Finished reading Twice Tempted. There were a few passages that had me literally laughing out loud, and the last paragraph made me want to scream. How dare she end on such a cliffhanger?! Argh!

And is it just me, or does anyone else ever wish they had Vlad's power to incinerate objects with their mind? I'd start with the stereo from hell next door...

Yes. Hayao Miyazaki directed the animated film. There's both a Japanese and American version of the film. The American version has Christian Bale voicing Howl and Billy Crystal as Calcifer (and he's great in it!) I love the movie.

It's been a few years since I read Howl's Moving Castle, but I remember enjoying it quite a bit. The heroine was one I felt I could really root for. Hope you enjoy it! :)

I loved the movie Howl's Moving Castle! But I've loved all the Miyazaki movies I've watched :D

I love all his movies. Howl's Moving Castle is one of my favorites. I wasn't able to see his most recent one, but the last one I saw called Ponyo was another of my favs. Also can't forget about Spirited Away.

Never seen Ponyo (yet! But I want to. Arietty too...) but when I lived with my roommate years ago, she loved My Neighbor Totoro and Kiki's Delivery Service, and of course Spirited Away! I also like Princess Mononoke a lot, though it was darker in feel. I think that's all I've seen. :)

I have Own the Wind ready to start but I usually stay up all night to read her books so I am trying to wait until I have a lazy day to read it. She always worries me anyway. lol Can't always believe I like her books and with such young leads, I am biting my nails on this one.

I have a soft spot for mail-order bride romances, too. There was one I read years ago that I thought was very sweet and touching: The Endearment by LaVyrle Spencer? Anybody else here read that? I always liked her book Morning Glory, too.

I've read all of LaVryle Spencer's books. Love them. A pity she has retired from writing. Hummingbird is my favourite.

Currently reading . Really liking the originiality and quirkness of the story and characters.
