It is so good! I really didn't know what would happen.

My fave of the Highlander books ☺

Now I'm starting

LOL! Yes, they are addicting.

Dragging myself still through

Yes, I made it through all of the five books (thus far) in the Song of Fire & Ice series. Ugh. Just gets worse and worse - and worse . I should have stopped after the first. Or maybe the third. I don't think I would have finished the last if not for my "buddy read" group. Just when I think GRRM can get any worse, he does!

I must admit though, I'm struggling with The Count of Monte Cristo. I like the story but its very wordy and I'm only on chapter 5 so far. I'm hoping it gets better but I understand that the story is being set at this point.

Answering your question, Pamela, I began this series because the fifth book was the winner of the GR awards, and I loved this genre when I was younger. But GRRM books are not like Tolkien’s or Tad Williams, where you find that eventually good will prevail. His fans say that he is more realistic, but let’s face it, if I want reality I watch the news, or read an essay, I don’t read about Knights, dragons or the Others.

As to what I'm reading now...I'm about to finish up The Player's Club: Lincoln by Cathy Yardley. Love the hero, but it took a little while to warm up to the heroine. After that I'll probably be reading A Rogue in Texas by Lorraine Heath. I love her writing and it's been a long time since I've read one of her books, so I'm really looking forward to it.

Julie I do want to read it and I will, hopefully ☺

I just started the anthology Bad Boys Over Easy today. I'm just going to read the first story for now and spread the rest out over the month. Tomorrow, I plan to start How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire by Kerrelyn Sparks.
