Hannah (lettingtheinkdry) | 4824 comments I would definately have writing as a career option. It's been my dream since I was little. I just love to do it so much. I'd get other jobs while I'm writing and such but writing would be my main career.

Yeah, I want to do a ton of odd jobs like movie design, makeup design from movies?, and maybe acting. Kind of need to start in that front tho haha. I'm so intirely impracticle.

As for Gauri, it'd be better to do what you want and and have other people be not so happy about it rather than just being unhappy all the time yourself.

message 55: by Acacia (new)

Acacia (acaciaa) I definitely want to be a 'professional' writer or whatever. At least a published one, since I don't take myself seriously enough to consider anything I do to be professional. ;)

But yeah, I'd love to having writing be my career. And maybe also a doctor.

message 60: by ★ Jess (new)

★ Jess | 50 comments It would be hard, but id love to be a full time novelist.
It would be the best, most enjoyable job.
Not too much stress, your own hours, work from home :)

Also, id love the world to read my story.
Even if its not a job, i would love to have one published.

message 62: by Libby (new)

Libby (libbyag) I want to train as a pyschologist, but do something creative. To quote L.M. Montomgery:
"I'd like to add some beauty to life," said Anne dreamily. "I don't exactly want to make people KNOW more. . .though I know that IS the noblest ambition. . .but I'd love to make them have a pleasanter time because of me. . .to have some little joy or happy thought that would never have existed if I hadn't been born."
No matter what, I will always write. Even if it's just a journal--I will write. I have to. And I don't care if I'm not published. I can write little things for friends and family. I just have to write.

That quote is so pretty. :) Which Anne book was it from?

message 64: by Samiha (new)

Samiha I've wanted to become an actress/singer for so long now but I think I've changed my mind. I think I want to be a history teacher but write (a lot) and act in theaters on the side. :)

I have no idea what to do. I'd like to be a Language arts or science teacher.

Maria [the clockwork creeps on useless lives] (mariachhile) | 8772 comments Mod
and a writer on the side :P

Hannah | 954 comments ChrysantheLlama (Aka Maria if you haven't guessed) wrote: "I have no idea what to do. I'd like to be a Language arts or science teacher."

I have no idea either... I was thinking maybe a psychiatrist or a history teacher, but honestly, I'll probably change my mind a billion times.

message 72: by CheshRCat (new)

CheshRCat | 22 comments I REALLY want to be a writer, or actress, or director, BUT if I don't make it big as any of those things...... So I'm contemplating getting a law degree, and write on the side. That way even if it turns out I'm a crap writer, I'll have something to fall back on. :P

Or you know what? I should be an optometrist. Because they get paid a lot, and get to have the Doctor title, but all they do is sit and go, "Which is better... number one? Or number two?" And then I'd have lots of extra time to write. :D

Maria [the clockwork creeps on useless lives] (mariachhile) | 8772 comments Mod
haha you're right

Jordan, The Picture Magician (aka Probie) (thepicturemagicianakaprobie) | 2218 comments See, this is my strategy: Become a famous sportscaster, THEN write a book. If you're already famous, then your book will sell better because people want to have it just because you wrote it. Get it?

SQUEAK! (Lisa) (fictionheart) I like proving people wrong, my 8th grade english teacher failed me, so it would be awesome to publish a book and rub it in her face :/

Ellen (ellenpenleysmith) Lisa wrote: "I like proving people wrong, my 8th grade english teacher failed me, so it would be awesome to publish a book and rub it in her face :/"

Bahahahaha! How funny would that be if you became, like, a famous author and they're there at your signing. "Do you remember me? I was your english teacher in eighth grade-"
"Yeah, you failed me. That's right."
*Crowd gasp*

message 79: by Daisy (new)

Daisy | 149 comments No, I wouldn't want it to be my career

A)Because of the slim chance of it being sucessful
B) Because of the pressure you would have on you to write a book that EVERYONE loves. I'd rather just get one book published and not have to worry about how much money I would make off of it

I would love it if I was paid to read. xD

PyroLily ~Qui scribit bis legit~ (pyrolily) | 290 comments Gee, I wonder what job you read in. Oh, I know you could write book reviews! I wan't to do that a little on the side.

I'm too nice, to write book reviews... Well maybe not. hehe.

message 85: by Tayyaba (new)

Tayyaba (Tayyaba1) | 191 comments I definately want to be a published author but then i don't think that's a very reliable source of income. So then i'd probably just have it as a hobby and be like a forensic scientist or something.

PyroLily ~Qui scribit bis legit~ (pyrolily) | 290 comments (a) ABBY!! (b) I know what you mean (c) Do they put names on the reviews?

message 87: by Chante (new)

Chante | 5 comments No, I don't think I'd choose writing as a career. Maybe as a side job though. I want to become a nurse practitioner and an artist and perhaps run an art gallery some time down the line.

message 89: by LaNaria (new)

LaNaria (laenae) | 43 comments I want to be a writer. It would be so awsome if I became an author, what everyone thought my sister would be, while she became a sleezy lawyer. (and my brother ???)

message 90: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (ellenpenleysmith) Hey! I want to become a lawyer, too!

*offended glare at Naria*

message 91: by SQUEAK! (Lisa) (new)

SQUEAK! (Lisa) (fictionheart) pettifogger! :P jks

anyway, you don't have to write a book that everyone likes, because then it won't be your writing, hence WHAT'S THE POINT? so yeah, just want to say that you got into the gig with your writing and you can stay there if you deserve it! thats all ^^

message 92: by Anjali (new)

Anjali | 148 comments Well I'd have an actual money paying job, and I can write and publish novels, that way if I fail with writing (I hope I won't!!!) than I'll already have a another job

message 93: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay Yes, I'll be a writer any day. It might not get steady income, so I'd get a job at a newspaper or magazine then write in my free time. But first I'll go for my dreams!

message 94: by Anjali (new)

message 96: by Megan (new)

Megan | 8 comments I would LOVE to become a published author one day. I have realized lately that i love writing soo much and that i AM a writer and that i could not live happily without writing. and if im writing all the time, what's stopping me from publishing a book? i will probably have a backup plan (which would also be what i could do before my writing career takes off ;) no, i WILL, but i will enjoy that too. :)

those are my thoughts EXACTLY. like its really weird. i use "twould" too... unless that was a typo. and i am trying not to cause i dont think its a word...

haha anyway i agree completely except for the digital art part. :)

message 98: by [deleted user] (new)

I would love to be a writer, but I think I'd want to have another job. If I just sat at home all day and had to write it would be guaranteed that I would get absolutely nothing done.

I think it's stupid when people plan to be something famous. I mean, people might think you suck. And then you starve.
