Thursday 25th February 2010 Thank you to all who attended tonight's meeting where we discussed Virginia Ironside - No! I Don't Want To Join A Book Club. A lively discussion where there were some who liked the book and others who actually hated it. The main reason why it wasn't liked was because of the main character just wasn't believable and the format of the book, which was written in the style of a diary. The two males in the group, including me, actually liked the book because we couldn't associate ourselves with the main character in the book, I personally found it very funny in places. Well in the next meeting we reach a milestone for the Thursday Book Group as we reach our 10th birthday, we will be discussing a book that has been read already by the Tuesday Book Group, Kim Edwards - The Memory Keeper's Daughter as well as having a drink or three as we toast 10 years of reading books that we wouldn't normally have chosen. Hope you all have a good month, see you at the end of March.
