Maybe it's the insomnia, but I always sleep soundest on the couch after drifting off in front of the TV.

I actually bought one of those beds back about 1996 and it was terrible. It was like sleeping on an air mattress when you go camping only worse and despite their foam stays, I kept rolling into the center spot between the two balloons. It came with that 90(60/30?)-night guarantee, which they eventually honored after pressuring me to keep it, but I had to pay for the return shipping. Sadly, their headquarters aren't too far from me so I drive by them a lot. I don't look in their direction when I pass by!

I would walk past his room and see his unmade bed.

I'm trying to figure out if there's a pillow that will elevate my legs but still let me sleep on my side.
I'm fine with just one leg, and it's mostly about lower back soreness.
The ones that are triangular wedges don't look like they'd be very comfortable, or the right shape?

I saw one some where with a strap on it that holds it to your leg but I can't find it now. I just use an extra firm regular pillow. Sometimes I lose it during the night but I'm so used to having it now that it will wake me up if it falls on the floor or something.
I have to use a really firm pillow for neck support, and can't sleep on a small bed because I'll just fall off and wake up on the floor. It has to be completely dark, except for the door opened about one inch, and only the backlight in the corridor on, not the one right outside my room. And I have to unplug all the devices that make a wierd humming noise, and have to put my alarm clock so that it's exactly one foot from my ear. And I have to check the room 50 times for bugs.
My bedroom walls are chocolate brown, my bedroom curtains are translucent cream fabric, and the windows are cracked open a bit unless it's actually snowing. I like a cold, dark room to sleep it, but that makes it so hard to get out of bed in the morning! Oh, and I have three regular pillows, two pillow shams and two body pillows on the bed.

I think the best thing to use is a regular pillow between your legs and if that doesn't elevate the leg enough then use two and just hold them together with a belt. I think a regular pillow is the best because it supports the leg all the way down to the ankle.
I bought a Homedics Sound Spa to help me sleep and it's really worthless because you can hear where the tape cuts and the sounds start over. Instead of putting me to sleep, I just count to ten over and over. The only good sound on it is the heartbeat which I thought would be creepy but is kind of nice.
I have a HUGE four poster, carved wood bed. I hate it. It was so high that I had to jump to get on it. But, when we (recently) bought a Tempurpedic mattress I did away with the box spring (platform in the world of Tempurpedic) part and just have a 2 inch base called a "bunkie board" in the bed frame holding up the mattress. If I could find someone who wanted the stupid thing and the huge dresser that matches it, I'd get rid of the LOT and put my mattress on the floor.
We have a ceiling fan that is never, ever turned off. Even during the day, because once we vacate the bed the fat cat takes over and Honey says that he likes the fan too. I can't sleep without moving air. Must feel the breeze. Also I like it cold. The coldest Honey can stand is 68º, I would happily go colder.
Total darkness isn't that important to me, as long as a bright light isn't shining in my face. The light attached to our ceiling fan has a dimmer switch and it is usually really low. I can totally sleep with it on.

I have one of those. I haven't had to use it in my current residence because it's pretty quiet (except for some traffic noises, which don't bother me, it's more people noises that bother me). I used it at my former apartment. I found the white noise setting turned up all the way was the only one that worked. Anything quieter than that, like heartbeat or birds chirping, or rushing water, did nothing.

I can't listen to anything except for outside sounds when I'm falling asleep. So like if the TV is on downstairs, I have to turn it off. But if its thundering, I'm fine. Which I don't have much of a choice in because my room is all glass walls, so I hear alot. It's pretty annoying sometimes, especially at 4am when birds start chirping.
I have a huge dark wood dresser & table that are way too big for my room. I haven't painted the walls yet- they're a really dark gold. I have one big window, on which I have regular blinds and the roll down black out kind that I Velcro to the window frame to allow as little light as possible. My bedroom is a lovely, dark cave. I think I'll go there now.
My bedroom walls are very similar to the sage green that someone (Barb?) posted in the purse thread.

What if she snores?
my bedroom is in the lower level of the raised ranch I live in. It's like a basement apt. It's L shaped with a love seat and rocking chair. I have a queen size bed on a bed frame. I have red curtains and taupe walls but a royal blue bedspread. I have a TV and some plastic bureaus. I have a reading lamp on the window ledge. I keep my library books on the other window ledge. I am comfortable and if I draw the curtains shut it keeps the room dark. It is cooler in the summertime and warm enough in the winter time if I use my comforter. I need 2 pillows to fall asleep.
When I sleep there are books all around and above me... it's like a warning that if I don't read at least one from the home-made shelf above me every day they'll fall on me and brain me during the night... that's why that shelf is the philosophy shelf... incentive.

I do. Jenn says I have cute little baby bear snores (we've camped together numerous times). Honey says they're not so cute and not so little. He wears ear plugs...every night.

Floor to ceiling, all four walls?"
I was thinking this as well, trying to envision. In my mind I saw Edward's bedroom in the film of Twilight.
