A great follow-up book that centers on Liv and Marc, who were very hot together. I'd date a younger guy in an instant if he was like Marc. Only Matt is left now.

Short, but hot. It served its purpose.
152. Crimson Moon by J.A. Saare - 4*
This reminded me so much of Twilight, just reverse the view on vamps and weres. But it was pretty good, regardless. While the similarities were there, it stood its own with an intriguing story and a great alpha male. I'd read more from this author and I'd definitely read a follow-up book, especially if it centered on Trent.

I loved the English slang and Harriet's sense of humor. Plus, she had one of the more interesting group of friends I've read in quite a while. Great book all around.
154. Twin Fantasies by Opal Carew - 4*
Holy crap, this was hot! If you don't like to read a lot of sex scenes, you won't like this. But if you do (and maybe have a secret thing for twins), then this is right up your alley!

I'm liking Amanda Quick even more after this book. It hinted at Beauty & the Beast (which I've well established is my favorite story of all time), so of course, I liked it. Plus Harriet was a blast to read. Can't wait to read more from her!

My first Garwood book and I loved it. I was wary about the beginning but around the second chapter, I was hooked, staying up all night to finish it. I loved Lyon and Christina, apart and together. I will definitely be reading the next in the series.
157. Betrayals by Lilith Saintcrow - 3*
The second in the Strange Angels series. The first book was rather tedious as Dru learned bits about her history here and there. This book was similar in layout, but still interesting enough to read through.
158. Matched by Ally Condie - 4*
SO freakin' amazing. I loved the world Ally Condie created for Cassia. I'm pretty sure it will be at least a trilogy and I'm anxious to read the second book. It reminded me of The Hunger Games in that instead of the story centered around a girl from the outside province, it focuses on a girl from the capital. And there's a love triangle... but not really.
159. Jealousy by Lilith Saintcrow - 4*
The third book in the Strange Angels series. Finally see some answers in this one. But the 'bonding' thing that everyone's so vague about worries me.

A fast-paced, enjoyable historical romance. I liked Ravished a little more, but this was still good.

A great book with good characterizations and passion between the leads. I greatly enjoyed Jade's secret and the way it came out. Can't wait to read the next one!
162. Pegasus by Robin McKinley - 3*
Loved the world and the relationship between Sylvi and Ebon, but the prose was difficult to get through sometimes and I skimmed a bit toward the end.

You could tell this was one of her early ones. While I usually like logical thinking characters, having both leads think the same way quickly became tedious. I started skimming toward the end since I'd pretty much figured everything out.
164. What She Wants at Midnight by Kimberly Dean - 3*
Quick and hot, but the ending was rushed and the 'climax' of the plot was overdone. It could have been better. Probably won't read the next in the series since it looks like the author's not continuing it.

Cam and Katie were great characters and very well matched. I thought Jill Shalvis did a great job, and since this is my first book by her, I'm looking forward to reading more of her work.
166. Lucan by Susan Kearney - 3*
One of the freebies I got at SDCC. To borrow a quote from a challenge, 'I could taken it or left it. It was not an unpleasant experience but I'm not burning rubber to get to her other books.'
167. With This Ring by Amanda Quick - 3*
Another Quick formula book, but with older leads that were both widowed this time around. More mystery than sex, which is sometimes very refreshing. I'll probably read the second in the series since I already have it.

The premise was very similar to other Amanda Quick books, but it hasn't gotten old for me yet. Her lead characters are almost always a joy to read, especially the males. Edison is no exception.
169. Wicked Widow by Amanda Quick - 3*
Probably my least favorite of the series just because there wasn't much chemistry between Madeline and Artemis, imo.
170. Lie by Moonlight by Amanda Quick - 4*
My favorite of the series, hands down. The beginning grabbed me and Concordia was a delightful and strong lead female who didn't get annoying, as some do. Ambrose was a mystery and even after finishing the book, still is simply because Mrs. Quick never fully describes him. Of course, she never fully describes any of her characters.

I had to give up halfway through because I just Didn't. Care. At. All. The amount of adultery that takes place in Eloisa James' books is hard for me to stomach. She's joined a number of other authors on my 'don't ever read again' list.
172. The Replacement by Brenna Yovanoff - 4*
A great chilling story about an unnatural boy who tries to find his place in the world. I have no idea if there's going to be a follow-up (it's fine where it stands, honestly), but if there is, I'll read it.

A very fitting ending to the trilogy, although I'm sad that there's no more of Lisbeth and Mikael (even w/ the hints of a 4th book outlined, it won't be the same). I have no idea why these books are so engrossing when so much of it is a step-by-step layout of what everyone does every minute of the day, but they are. I can't explain it.
174. This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen - 4*
I didn't think I'd like this, honestly, because a cynical teenager who doesn't believe in love sounded like the makings of a bad romance novel. But Sarah Dessen is a really good writer and is able to draw you into Remy's world. I related to Remy on a certain level and loved how she grew over the course of the summer before she started college.
175. Moonstruck Madness by Laurie McBain - 2*
This is one of the books I've borrowed from my mom and you can tell it was written a while ago (the 70s). I guess it's supposed to be this epic love story between two people who have so much pride it's difficult to understand why they love each other, but it wasn't interesting enough for me to get into it. About halfway through I felt like the author was toying with me, rather then tying up the story, so I just skimmed until the end.

Lauren was a nitwit, honestly. I wanted to shake her. But Evan was adorable and put up with more than he should have.
177. Darkfever by Karen Marie Morning - 4*
One of those free books from SDCC. It was slow going til the last third and then became really interesting. Immediately bought the second book after I finished.
178. Bloodfever by Karen Marie Morning - 4*
Better than the first book. I can't get enough of Jericho. I also can't figure him out. Heh.
179. Another Faust by Daniel and Dina Nayeri - 3*
Liked the similarities to Dorien Gray. Didn't like the ending.

I still can't get enough of Jericho. Loved this book, even though it ended of a huge cliffhanger.
181. Dreamfever by Karen Marie Moning - 4*
I want a Jericho Barrons! Also, I HATE the way this book ended because it's another cliffhanger and the next book isn't out 'til January!
182. Winter's Passage by Julie Kawaga - 3*
Short little interlude between The Iron King and The Iron Daughter. I liked it.
183. Sweethearts by Sara Zarr - 3*
I thought this was going to be something that it wasn't. It kind of made me want to cry and now I'm sad because of the ending.

Cute and light. I loved the WoW-based world Mari Mancusi created and the online flirting Maddy did with Sir Leo.
185. Reckless by Amanda Quick - 3*
Dragged at times, but Phoebe and Gabriel were good together. I liked Phoebe's spirit.
186. Pleasure Unbound by Larissa Ione - 2*
I just couldn't get into this book or the characters. Maybe it reminded me too much of BDB and a billion other series I've read. Or maybe I'm getting over the "good demon" quirk I had. Whatever the case, I won't be reading the next book.

The "instant connection" between Haven and Ethan seemed forced and Haven herself was too whiny and complacent for my tastes. Plus Kirsten just kind of skimmed over the fact that they were sleeping together when it should have been a bigger deal. Won't be reading the follow-up.
188. Scott Pilgrim's Finest Hour by Bryan Lee O'Malley - 4*
Okay, I read the last one first. But I still understood what was going on and it made me want to read the other five, so no harm done. Very cute and fun.
189. Nightshade by Andrea Cremer - 3*
The love triangle was 'eh', as was the premise behind the Guardians. But the ending left me wanting more, so I'll probably read the follow-up.
190. Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life by Bryan Lee O'Malley - 4*
Very cute, in a geeky way. Scott Pilgrim is so awkward I want to hug him.

Great ending to an amazing trilogy. There were certain things I didn't like that happened, but I can understand why they did.
192. Hawksong by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes - 4*
Surprisingly good start to a fantasy series about two very different people who have to learn to live in peace together after waring for years and years.
193. Zack by Cheyenne McCray - 4*
After so many YA books, I needed this. Great writing and great sex scenes. Sign me up for the next one.
194. Snakecharm by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes - 3*
Second of the Hawksong series. Not as good as the first, but I liked Zane and Danica's story enough that it was still good. Won't be reading the third, however, because it follows the next generation.

Shown more of Ramona's backstory and Scott's ineptitude of dealing with girls. Loved it.
196. Immortal Warrior by Lisa Hendrix - 4*
I wasn't sure what to expect when I realized it was set during medival times, but turned out to be pretty good. I'll read the next one since it seems each book takes place during a different time period.
197. Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare - 4*
A great beginning to a series that I think I'll like more than Mortal Instruments. Loved the steampunk feel and am liking Jem more than Will at this point.
198. Scott Pilgrim and the Infinite Sadness by Bryan Lee O'Malley - 3*
This one dragged a bit, especially the part with Todd. Found I didn't care much about him or his vegan powers.
199. To Taste Temptation by Elizabeth Hoyt - 4*
Loved the fire between the two leads. Made for a great story. Will most likely read the second book.
200. The Hunters - Declan and Tori by Shiloh Walker - 3*
Short paranormal erotica with a surprising menage. Well, not surprising if you read the summary beforehand (which I didn't). It was alright. Will probably read the second one when I need a lust boost.
201. It Had to Be You by Susan Elizabeth Phillips - 4*
Very cute and fun, while still having depth to her characters. This was a good read, especially if you can follow the football talk. Will definitely read the second one.

These are losing steam as we still don't know much about Ramona. Hrm.
203. Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin - 2*
The beginning was slow and I couldn't get into it since I've never been one to read about teenage moping. Once Liz moved on in her death, it got better, but it wasn't great. Just alright.
204. The Hunters - Eli and Sarel by Shiloh Walker - 2*
Ugh. I think I'm over vampire/werewolf instant bonding stories that are just sex, sex, sex for a while.
205. The Texan's Wager by Jodi Thomas - 4*
Great story. I loved Carter and how sweet he was. I doubt I'll read the second one since I only read this one for Carter.

Ugh. Can there be no more books about a girl attending a boarding school and meeting a mysterious, sexy guy? Because it's been done. (and done, and done.) The twist was twisty, but not enough to make me want to know more.
207. First Drop of Crimson by Jeaniene Frost - 4*
I haven't read the Night Huntress books, but I don't think I lost much from not reading them. I liked Spade and Denise was alright. Intrigued enough to read the follow-up.
208. Eternal Kiss of Darkness by Jeaniene Frost - 4*
Ooh, much better male lead. Mencheres was delightfully dark and sexy and I liked Kira more than Denise. I hope Mrs. Frost writes more of these. (Maybe Ian next?)
209. Incarceron by Catherine Fisher - 4*
Ugh, so good. Very enthralling, wonderful visuals, fascinating world. I loved it. Can't wait to read the next book, Sapphique!

One of the best anime/manga out there. I've watched the anime, now I'm reading through the manga.
211. Desire Untamed by Pamela Palmer - 3*
It was 'eh'. Readable, but forgettable, especially since I've started and stopped too many series with the same premise (BDB copy-cat, anyone?). Have no desire to start another one, so no go on the second book.
212. Fullmetal Alchemist, Volume 02 by Hiromu Arakawa - 4*
Another great installment of the series.
213. Scott Pilgrim vs The Universe by Bryan Lee O'Malley - 4*
Robots! Twins! This was my second favorite one, behind the first volume.
214. Fullmetal Alchemist, Volume 03 by Hiromu Arakawa - 4*
I can't wait to read the 4th one! I can't believe it took me this long to read the series!

A great YA book with a strong female lead who works through the grief of losing her father over the course of a summer. I thought it was one of Sarah Dessen's best written books.
216. The Dark-Hunters Vol.1 by Sherrilyn Kenyon - 4*
Rather good. I haven't read any of Kenyon's other works, but will have to check them out since some of the backstory in Vol. 1 is centered around those stories. Will read the second one.
217. Vampire Knight, Volume 1 by Matsuir Hino - 3*
More teen-bopper than the other manga I've tried. The pacing is slow, but the illustrations are beautiful at times, though, which makes it worth it... as long as I can borrow them from the library.
218. The Angel Experiment by James Patterson - 3*
I would have liked this more if I was younger. And what's with the two and three page chapters? What's the point of having so many chapters? Is it to make the book seem longer than it actually is? Whatever the reason, it got on my nerves.

The pacing is still somewhat languid, but the illustrations make up for it. I love that I can get this at my library.
220. Immortal Outlaw by Lisa Hendrix - 4*
At first I thought it would be cheesy since it involved the story of Robin Hood and Marian, but Lisa Hendrix did a good job of twisting the story around, even making it work in the leads' favors. Steinarr was a good tortured leading male and Marian (aka Matilda) was a good choice for him. I look forward to the third book in the series.
221. The Mammoth Book of Paranormal Romance - 3*
The problem with short stories is you don't want the good ones to end. In this anthology there were some good ones, particularly good ones and just alright ones. The particularly good ones were John Doe by Anna Windsor, Light Through Fog by Holly Lisle and At Second Bite by Michelle Rowen.
222. The Iron Daughter by Julie Kawaga - 3*
It was alright, then bad, then alright again, then mind-numbing. The ending redeemed it and made me want to read the third one - The Iron Queen. I'm not sure what Meghan's draw is to Ash (and vice versa), but he stuck to his feelings. Now Meghan just needs to grow up a bit and everything will be great.

Read it solely for a challenge, but ended up liking it. It was cute, light and a fast read. But the scavenger hunt was insanely too hard. If I'd been Michelle, I would have strangled Vanessa.
224. Bitten & Smitten by Michelle Rowen - 4*
Fun, fast-paced and snarky - exactly what I needed after reading so many duds lately. Reminds me of Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs and the other two "Nice Girls" books by Molly Harper.
225. The Lion of Kent by Aleksandr Voinov and Kate Cotoner - 4*
It's been too long since I've read MM and I'm glad this was good because I needed it. Even though it's only 87 pages, there's a lot packed into it - from well-researched medieval life, to adventure, to romance.
226. Captivate by Carrie Jones - 3*
It took me a little while to get into the story since it's been a while since I've read Need, but once I was, it was gripping. I have a feeling Entice is going to be a rollercoaster of a book.
227. Stranger by Megan Hart - 5*
Holy crap, this was good! Grace's voice is natural and flows easily. I loved every second and stayed up way too late reading. Will definitely be reading everything I can get by Megan Hart.

Had moments I recognized from the show - Castle's comments, Beckett's witty retorts, Esposito and Ryan kidding around in the background. I'll probably read the next book during the show's off-season next year.
229. Angel Sanctuary, Vol. 1 by Kaori Yuki - 3*
A little confusing name-wise. It would've been better if the author included a character list to keep all the angels straight. The incest thing was... different. Probably won't read the rest of the series.
230. Vampire Knight, Volume 3 by Matsuri Hino - 3*
It's getting better! And the pace is picking up!
231. Vampire Knight, Volume 4 by Matsuri Hino - 4*
Okay, I'm hooked. Must. Have. More. Volumes.
232. As You Wish by Jackson Pearce - 4*
Very cute and light-hearted. I liked the characters and how you were able to read both Viola's and Jinn's POVs. Didn't like the abrupt ending, but that's my complaint about most YA romances.

Re-read for banned book week. Liked it just as much as the first time around. Love the mystery and intrigue and Vivian's growth.
234. To Tame a Highland Warrior by Karen Marie Moning - 3*
I don't know why it took me so long to read this. I guess I never really got into it. The first book was cute with the time-travel aspect, which is why I read it. But this didn't have any of that. I'll read the next one since I'm keeping time 'til Shadowfever comes out.
235. Demon's Fall by Karalynn Lee - 3*
I felt like Jahel gave in a little too quickly after Kenan bought her, but I guess things had to happen quickly since this was only 75 pages long. It was a good short story. Wouldn't mind learning more about Tiras and his backstory.
236. The Exile: An Outlander Graphic Novel by Diana Gabaldon - 3*
Kind of a slapdash job of showing the first 1/3rd of Outlander from "Jamie's POV". If you haven't read Outlander, you won't get anything that's going on.
237. North of Beautiful by Justina Chen Headley - 3*
Very beautifully written and insightful. I got lost in the middle somewhere but found my way back in time to enjoy the ending. It was rather long, but sometimes the journey to discover True Beauty is.

Four cute short stories that were tingle-inducing but lacked substance, as most short stories do.
239. The Betrayal by R. L. Stine - 4*
The start of the Fear Street Saga, which creeped me out when I was a kid. Re-reading them for a review.
240. The Secret by R. L. Stine - 4*
Second in the Fear Street Saga.
241. Hunger by Jackie Morse Kessler - 3*
A rough subject to read about (anorexia and bulimia), but one that should be talked about since people do suffer from them (teenage girls seem to be hit the worst).
242. Wild at Heart by Patrica Gaffney - 4*
Very heartwarming book. I loved Michael. Him and Sydney were great together. Loved the HEA. Just... yay!

Last of the saga.
244. Vampire Knight, Volume 5 by Matsuri Hino - 4*
I cannot read these fast enough!
245. Shadow Hills by Anastasia Hopcus - 3*
One of those debut books that slipped through largely unnoticed. The mystery was great. It's one of the most original paranormal YA books I've read in a while (no vampires OR werewolves!).
246. Vampire Knight, Volume 6 by Matsuri Hino - 4*
Ah! Why can't these be longer?

I haven't read the Vampire Kisses series, so I guess I didn't get it. It seemed more like the Adventures of Teen Goth Girl!
248. Vampire Kisses: Blood Relatives, Volume II by Ellen Schreiber - 3*
Pretty much the same.
249. Vampire Knight, Volume 7 by Matsuri Hino - 4*
I love this series!
250. Absolute Boyfriend, Volume 1 by Yuu Watase - 3*
It was pretty silly. Made me laugh a couple of times, but there were too many eye-rolling moments for me to continue.

These are really good. Srsly.
252. Vampire Knight 9 by Matsuri Hino - 4*
Addictive almost.
253. White Cat by Holly Black - 4*
I am pleasantly surprised at how good this was. It's the first Holly Black book I've read and now I'm going to read everything else she's written.
254. Vampire Kisses: Blood Relatives, Volume III by Ellen Schreiber - 3*
Yay. It ends. I probably won't read the books.

I can't believe I have to wait until December to read Volume 11!
256. Socrates in Love by Kyoichi Katayama - 4*
Would've given it 3 stars just for reminding me of Walk to Remember, but I teared up a little, so it got 4.
257. Hate To Love You Volume 1 by Makoto Tateno - 3*
The main story was alright. The extra story was very weird.
258. Stolen Heart by Maki Kanamaru - 4*
I love the Victorian time period, so really, it was a given I would like yaoi in that time period.

I really enjoyed this story and can't wait for the next one! I can't believe I have to wait an entire year! And Reyn. There needs to be more Reyn.
260. Fruits Basket, Volume 1 by Natsuki Takaya - 3*
It was pretty cute. Will probably continue the series since my library has them.
261. The Dark-Hunters, Vol. 2 by Sherrilyn Kenyon - 4*
This was good! I can't wait to read Vol. 3, although I might wait until Vol. 4 comes out so I can read them back-to-back.
262. Fruits Basket, Volume 2 by Natsuki Takaya - 3*
This series is cute and even funny sometimes, but I don't have time for it right now. I'll pick it up again when my reading demands lessen.

Reminded me of the first season of Buffy so much, it was scary. Will = Angel.
264. Second Chances by Lauren Dane - 3*
Pretty hot book even though it goes into a heavier D/s relationship than I like.
265. Coming Clean by Inez Kelly - 4*
This was wow. Very hot. I'm always a sucker for m/m/f, especially if the m/m have some fun, too!
266. Beauty and the Beast by Jeanne-Marie Le Prince de Beaumont - 3*
Like a shortened version of Robin McKinley's Beauty: A Retelling of the Story of Beauty and the Beast, even though I know this was written first.
267. Fullmetal Alchemist, Volume 04 by Hiromu Arakawa - 4*
Seriously. Love. These.
268. OZ by Heather Peters and Eden Elgabr - 2*
Too weird for my tastes.
269. Fullmetal Alchemist, Volume 05 by Hiromu Arakawa - 4*
Same.
270. Fullmetal Alchemist, Volume 06 by Hiromu Arakawa - 4*
I can't read these fast enough.

Could srsly read these all day, if given the chance.
272. Fullmetal Alchemist, Volume 08 by Hiromu Arakawa - 4*
Same
273. Fullmetal Alchemist, Volume 09 by Hiromu Arakawa - 4*
Same
274. Fullmetal Alchemist, Volume 10 by Hiromu Arakawa - 4*
Same
275. Fullmetal Alchemist, Volume 11 by Hiromu Arakawa - 4*
*clutches at chest* Last one... for a while... *dies*
276. Time Lag by Shinobu Gotoh - 2*
It was more a back and forth between who-said-who-assumed and became a little confusing with the similar names.
277. The Long Road Home by Mary Alice Monroe - 4*
Great book with great characters. The plot is basic, but heartfelt.
278. Nevermore by Kelly Creagh - 3.5*
I should not have expected a HEA with a book centered around Edgar Allen Poe, but I did. *sigh*
279. Shiver by Maggie Steifvater - 4*
Oh gods, I love Grace and Sam so much, I want to hug them and never let go. Can't wait to read Linger!
280. The Debutante's Dilemma by Elyse Mady - 3*
Could've been better if it was longer, but showed promise.

One of the more 'romantic' yaoi I've read, which is nice since I've read too many lately that have reluctant or overly-embarrassed partners.
282. Death Note, Volume 1: Boredom by Tsugumi Ohba - 2*
This is such a boy series. I just couldn't get into it. I may try again when I have more time. Also, the death god kind of freaks me out.
283. HER KIND of HERO by Kathleen Diene - 4*
I figured out who the 'stalker/crazy' was very early on, but the romance was hot enough that I didn't care.
284. Lies & Kisses by Masara Minase - 4*
So good. I love reading about forbidden romances.
285. Black Bird, Volume 1 by Kanoko Sakurakoji - 3*
A good start to an interesting premise. Will be continuing.
286. Black Bird, Volume 2 by Kanoko Sakurakoji - 4*
This is definitely getting better. Unfortunately, now I have to wait to read Volume 3.
287. Hunger Aroused by Dee Carney - 4*
Rather good PNR from an unknown author. Keeping my eye out for the follow-up.
288. Passion, Volume 1 by Shinobu Gotoh & Shoko Takaku - 3*
It was a rather quick read, but cute.
289. Passion, Volume 2 by Shinobu Gotoh & Shoko Takaku - 4*
I knew there had to be more to their relationship than the first volume let on. Also, I'm really glad there's two more volumes after this.
290. Entwined by Emma Jensen - 4*
Reminded me of B&tB, in a way, so of course I loved it. I'm easy like that.
