I almost got named "Fanny", middle name "Doggett". It's an old family name on my mother's side.Fanny Doggett Featherstone. I would not have survived childhood.
No, because on the phone people always think I said Dolly when i say my name.
If we were naming me because of my mammaries I think I'd be Pamela.

My daughter named her baby Lillian Raige. I tried really hard to talk her out of the middle name, it just sounds so angry.
Sally wrote: "If I chose a penname for GR it would have to be Dolly."Hello Dolly. Bet you never heard that before.
Rachel wrote: "I like my name...But I dunno...people have never told me I'm not a Rachel..."It's a good name. Fits you just fine.
Sally wrote: "You see KD at the library? He exists outside of my laptop?"Yes, I've seen him at the library, shelving books. And he's seen me sitting on the floor in the kids' section, weeding books.
Oh! And I've seen him in his Colt Winchester persona, too, playing with his band Rodeo Kill a couple of times.
my name is not janine. my real name is unique, but a bit old fashioned, people can't spell it right and it is very dutch. i still like it though, mainly because it is unique and because i was named after my grandmother.
Janine reminds me of Claudia's older sister in the Baby Sitter's Club books. I never knew how to pronounce it as a kid.
janine is an anagram of my middle name, my real middle name is jannie, with a j as in yes, an a as in dark and ie as in ski.

I have always hated my name. Sort of a harsh, awkward to pronounce name, it doesn't get shortened or lengthened. It has too many ways to spell it, so I am always forced to spell it for people & even if you spell it, they often insist on spelling it a different way. The only nick name I ever had was Windy. Why don't I use something else? It simply never occurred to me.
I wasn't going to contribute to this discussion because all I could do was whine. :(. But now I have finally got it off my chest (not chestier) I feel a whole lot better. :).
Does it suit me? Who knows!!!

i also go by nobody.
Hey Bod! You're like that boy in Neil Gaiman's book! His name is also Nobody, but people call him Bod.
Yeah! That's a great book, too, The Graveyard Book, I was really happy when it won the Newbery Award. But, I don't want to call Janine "Bod," because that sounds like we're commenting on her physique.
Bod Netherlander sounds like the name of someone who would have competed in the World's Strongest Man competition...
bod netherlander would only work in an ironic sense, i am always surprised when i manage to open a jar without help.
Janine...Bod Netherlander...Bod Neverlander...I tried saying it outloud and it sounds like the lazy way of saying Bored Need a Lender..which makes no sense. **cackles**
I get called everything under the sun - Chuck, Craig, Scott, asshole - except for Clark.
I know it's not a common name, but get it straight wouldya?

Sorry Charles, we'll try harder.
maybe i should just keep my name as it is, it makes much more sense than any of the other names we have come up with.
::bites tongue, breaks fingers, anything to stop from saying or typing it::
I LOVE my name, and I think it suits me fine. And then horseyface Heidi Monta*COUGH COUGH*CAN'T SAY*COUGH*HER NAME*COUGH COUGH COUGH* pops into the public eye and gives the rest of us Heidis in the world a bad name. She's not fit to be a Heidi. She doesn't deserve to be a Heidi.
I'm just sayin'...

I LOVE the name Clyde! I wanted to name a son that but I never got one.
