Eli slept like a baby.

A shax demon - the kind that Alex had fought the other day - lurked around Eli's house.
Eli felt a breeze and pulled the covers over her head.
A shax demon was a demon who had claws, six eyes, and was overall very ugly. He smashed the window to Amanda's room.
Eli heard a crash and jumped out of bed and transformed to a werewolf. She ran to Amanda's room and screamed at what she saw.
The shax demon stood over Amanda's bed as it thought about how it wanted to kill her.
Eli moved as fast as she could and tackled that demon to the floor. Amanda woke with a start and tried to scream, but couldn't.
Amanda slipped out of bed and towards the door as Eli fought the demon back.
The demon was slowly losing strength.
Eli did her final attack and sent the demon tumbling to the ground. She ran towards Amanda and hugged her tight. "You okay?" she asked.
Amanda responded, "Yeah. I was soooo scared. I'm glad your a werewolf!" she said, hugging Eli. Eli turned back into human form and went to call Alex.
Alex was asleep, but his phone was near.
She typed in his number and waited.
"Hello?" Alex answered sleepily as he tried to keep the irritation out of his voice.
She recalled everything that happened that night all in one breath.
By the end, Alex was wide awake. "Can I come over to check out the scene?" he asked. "Now, or in the morning?"
"Now would be good!" she said. "I don't think any of us are ready to go back to sleep."
Alex nodded, the realizing that that was pointless, he said, "I'll be right over." and hung up and started walking towards Eli's house.
Eli answered, Amanda still by her side.
Alex, his anger at Amanda momentarily gone, bent down so he was eye to eye with her, and asked, with complete sincerity, "Are you ok?"
Amanda responded with a hug. She hugged him and started weeping like the little girl she was.
Alex hugged her back, gently rubbing her back and saying, "Shh, shh, it's ok." trying to calm her down.
Amanda quieted down, "It's my fault. I know it. I'm just a curse on this family!"Eli stared at her sister, shocked by what she was saying.
"No it's not." Alex said gently. "It's not your fault. But I promise, I'll figure out who's fault it is."
Amanda smiled up at Alex. He was the big brother she never had. Eli took Amanda's arm and brought her to the living room, "We don't have much time." she told Alex.
"Much time until what?" Alex asked, following her.
"Much time until the vampire hunter figures out where I live!" Eli explained sitting next to Amanda on the couch.
Alex nodded."That is a problem." he paced slowly, thinking.
Eli rocked her knee up and down, getting impatient. "I'm so scared for me and Amanda."
"Everything will be ok." Alex said, the uncertainty vanishing from his face as he looked at them. "I won't let anything happen to you guys. I might even be able to convience Anderin to help you too." he finished, a plan forming in his head.
Alex looked at her, a smile spreading across his face. "If I someone convience him that Ally wants him to do this, he will. Then we'll just have to take turns covering the perimeter of your house." he said.
"Brilliant." Eli agreed, "When can you start?"
Alex shrugged. "Right now I guess." he said, trying to ignore the slight hint of pain the shrug brought to his chest. Getting staked hurt. It was on his list of things never to do again.
Eli could sense some pain in Alex, "No, I think you should rest a bit. It's been a long night." she said escorting him to the sofa to sit. "I could call Anderin and ask him to do the first shift?"
Alex didn't want to have to call Anderin so late at night, since he wasn't pleasant on a full night's sleep, he was hardly going to be a joy when woken up, but he wasn't feeling that well right then, so he nodded, and leaned his head back on the couch.
Eli went to go dial Anderin's number.When Eli was gone Amanda asked, "Do you like my sister?"
"Very much." Alex answered.Anderin was sleeping like a rock, on well...a rock. He hadn't come to town for luxury. He'd come to kill Alex, something that was looking more and more like it wouldn't work. But he did have a presence of mind to have a cell phone with him.
Amanda smiled, "Good."Eli rang Anderin's cell and waited for it to answer.
Alex closed his eyes. He truely was exhausted.Anderin picked up the phone. "What?" he snapped irritably.
Amanda closed her eyes as well and slowly fell asleep. Eli laughed, "Chill! It's just me Eli. I was calling to see if you can come guard my house tonight? I'll explain later."
Alex was soon asleep as well. "Why would I want to do that?" Anderin asked.
"Cause Ally thought it was a great idea." she tried.
Anderin groaned. "I don't know why you think that's of any importance. But I'm coming." he said, hanging up.
Eli laughed to herself. It worked, he was coming.
