"Well, I'll get ready." she said and hung up before he could object.

Alex hung up. Hm. he thought. How am I supposed to know how to dress if I dont know what we're doing? he shrugged, and went to his closet.
She wore a fancy black dress and her hair was blown out. She remebered she didn't tell Alex how to dress, but she figured it would be a surprise.
Alex wore dark jeans and a white button down shirt with black sneakers. There, that goes with almost anything...right? he thought as he looked in the mirror.
She told Amanda not to wait up for her than she called Alex again. Ring Ring
"Yeah, come get me. I'm ready." she said hanging up. She hoped she didn't sound too needy.
Alex closed his phone. Ok... he thought. He shrugged, and walked out of his house towards Eli's.
She made herself up and wore a smokey eyeliner to make her eyes more appealing. They were going to a restaurant.
"He..." Alex had meant to say 'Hey' but then he saw her outfit and his brain short circutted.
"Alex? What's the matter? You look great by the way!" she prompted.
Alex shook his head to clear it. "Oh, nothing. You look...great too." he said.
"Then let's go." she said heading out the door, "I made reservations."
Eli got into the drivers side of the car since she had her permit.
Eli drove to a five star restaurant and parked the car in the parking lot. She got out and waited for Alex.
Alex got out of the car. "A little fancy, isnt it?" he asked, glancing down at his jeans and sneakers hoping he wasnt dressed too casually.
"Yeah...but I've got it covered." she said patting her purse which had a lot of money.
"Yeah. Now come on, we don't want our table to be given away." she said grabbing Alex's hand and entering the restaurant. She told the owner she made reservations and they were led to a table somewhere in the back.
Eli sat down and looked at her menu.
Alex sat, and also looked at his menu.
Eli ordered the lobster and gave her menu to a waiter that came over.
Alex ordered a salad because it was the cheapest thing he could find on the menu.
"You sure that's all you want? I told you I have plenty to spend." she said again patting her purse.
"Okay." the waiiter left with both there menus. "So what do you think?" Eli said gesturing to the restaurant, "is it too much?"
"It's a lovely resturant." Alex said, "Just...not the type of place I'd ever be caught spending money in. It's different."
"I see." Eli said looking sad, "I guess I brought you out of your comfort zone huh? I'm sorry..."
"It's fine. It's ok." Alex said quickly.
"Okay." Eli said as the food came. She looked at her lobster and at Alex's salad. She cut some lobster off her plate and put it on Alex's plate and smiled.
"You didnt have to do that." Alex said. He hated being an inconvience.
"No, I wanted to." she said. She started eating her food.
"Thanks." Alex said, and he started eating too.
She nodded and took a sip of her sprite that was in a glass cup.
Alex continued eating, having nothing to say.
Eli kept eating as well, looking at Alex every so often.
Alex looked at Eli. "So, how was your day?" he asked.
She stopped eating, "Oh, I guess it was alright." she shrugged, "Yours?"
"Alright. I slept through most of it." he said.
She laughed, "Yeah, not much to do anyhow."
She drank her sprite all the way to the bottom and a waiter came over and filled it up again. She smiled and took another sip.
