Mine are done and ready to be mailed out. I'm sending them out early in the morning. They should arrive by Monday or Tuesday, Jackie. Sorry for the delay, everyone! I've been working late every afternoon/evening so the post office has been closed pretty much every time I have the time to swing by. I'm going to go to College Station, AR (the hood) because they have the only post office that's open on Saturday morning between 8:30-10:30... plus they get the mail out SUPER fast. :)
Awww, Heidi loves us. She's going to the hood to get us our music. You rock Heidi! Do you have a nickname? I want to call you something endearing right now!

It's cool... it's got a reputation as "the hood," but it's really a quiet area, quaint little shanties, and the people are nice. :) Plus, it's fairly safe early on Saturday morning. I wouldn't go there late at night, though.
Shebangs en route. I may choose to explain it at a later date as I had planned to include liner notes but the presence of the Goober seriously limited my capacities.
HAHAHAHAHA! Wait 'til you all the the cave-woman style of my Shebangs. CD, magic marker, colored printer paper (fancy!), and I couldn't even get the free program I downloaded to print the band names - only the track names. But don't worry, I'll get around to posting the track list on here sometime soon.

I saw her live in the early 90's opening for the Blasters. She has some corrosive pipes, that girl.

I could never get that winRAR thing to work. What's an iPod?

I gave Heidi a nickname a while back. I'll let her reveal it if she wants.
Gus wrote: "I gave Heidi a nickname a while back. I'll let her reveal it if she wants."Which one are you talking about, Gus? "Heidi Salami"??
That was it, Heidi.
Barb, LOVE the Philosopher Kings' track.
Sally, see comment # 304.

I think I did follow msg 304, and I think I decompressed them, barb. *sob* I feel like my mother.
Any more thinking of publishing online? I've listened to Barb's, and will probably look into getting more from the artists on tracks 1 & 6 (thanks, Barb).

We're getting there..."
Glad to hear it.

Glad to hear it.
I could be coerced talk into posting all my previous Shebangs online. Might take me a couple of days, but if anyone's interested, let me know.

Meany. :(
I see what you're saying, Misha. For me, it's not a big deal; I've put my Shebangs on a .zip file, complete with liner notes, playlists, and artwork, so it's not a problem for me to upload them. I just need to make the time to do so.
I get what Misha is saying, but I don't think it's a slight to you, Barb. I think electronic shebangs are a great way for out-of-country TC to share, in particular. That said, I wouldn't participate in an electronic shebang. Again, this is my own personal opinion, and I don't apply it to anyone other than me, but for me it feels too much like stealing music from the artists. I don't mind sharing a couple of songs with a couple of people in the name of getting some new fans for musicians I like, but electronic sharing feels a little too widespread for me.
You know, I think a private sharing of links makes perfect sense...also, it's kind of green. This way we're not sending CDs out, etc.(Although I love getting mail, so fuck you, mother earth!:)
I didn't think you were grumpy, Misha. I just wanted to make sure I understood...I didn't understand, but I do now.:)
I'll do the electronic Shebang for folks who haven't or couldn't participate, just so they'll know what they missed.
However, I am sending this latest Shebang via snail mail to a select few this time around.

Today I got Zen's shebangs! There are now six on my table, three to go, including mine. At least I decided on a theme. I'm just having trouble narrowing down my songs to something that will fit on a disc. :)
If we go to electronic shebanging someone is going to need to write a tutorial for the techno-unsaavy (me). I have no idea how to release my music from the shackles of iTunes. I tried because I was going to send mine to Barb electronically. I couldn't figure it out. p.s. I will miss your lovely cover art and the little personal touches when we go electronic! But I'll still be an enthusiastic participant!
Barb wrote: "I send out my humble apologies if my posting a shebang has undermined anyones hard work on their own. My intention was only to share and be friendly."It was Phil, who suggested doing electronic shebangs. Not you, Barb. All you did was give everyone a free shebang.

If we go the electronic route, I'm done like dinner. I can burn a mean, shiny new CD-R that produces sound when you zap it with a laser beam, but mp3's? Not so much...

Cute, kiddo, real cute.

Gretchen wrote: "It was Phil, who suggested doing electronic shebangs. Not you, Barb. All you did was give everyone a free shebang."So here's the deal. I love good music of any genre. Problem is, I'm not very good at finding it on my own. By listening to the favored selections of people who are true music aficionados, I can discover bands and sounds that I never would have otherwise.
But I don't have the knowledge, background and artistry to put together my own playlist, and that prevents me from participating in your exchanges. Thus, no new music to explore.
Having a shebang online would move it from the elite world of the artists (you who participate) into the realm of the common man. It would be like having a dozen "iTunes Geniuses" helping me find new stuff.
I would still purchase the tunes I intend to keep, because that's just the dork I am.
Phil wrote: "It would be like having a dozen "iTunes Geniuses" helping me find new stuff."
Er, more like eleven iTunes geniuses and one fifty-something disciple of vinyl, turntables, old-school Brit punk, garage bands, and mix tapes.

Phil, it doesn't take much in the way of artistry or knowledge. You should join us sometime. In any case, the playlists get posted eventually and you can see which songs people liked best and then preview them on iTunes and buy them.
Sarah Pi wrote: "In any case, the playlists get posted eventually and you can see which songs people liked best and then preview them on iTunes and buy them."I've done that a couple of times. The iTunes snippets, though, are not really too helpful. I like to hear the whole song to see where it takes me.
Anything I put together would likely be a compilation of billboard top 100 stuff from various decades. From the great stuff I've heard suggested here, I don't think that would go over well. Like introducing a turd at the flower sniffing party. I'll make do, though, in the manner you suggested.
