I've just realized that I will never manage to get this done, so rather than be that crappy person who doesn't send her copies, I'm going to just be upfront about my failings and drop out. I'm interested, but just life is a bit crazy right now. No giving birth or anything, but still crazy.

Good to know your limits, Youndyc! No worries! There will be other opportunities for participation. :)Okay, make eight copies, shebangers.

I know I can't be the only person's who has been busy.
So to be honest, there've been times I logged on since February specifically to find out if a due date and final list had been posted yet. When I'd see nothing new was posted, I'd get offline.
I thought Sally's posts were funny, not because they were a dig at you, but because they addressed something that had been on my mind at that particular moment (due date? assignment?)... so it was like she'd been reading my mind.
Frankly, I'm upset with myself for not having stepped up to the plate on this sooner since it seems to have been the cause for upsetting you, RA, and making you feel that the right thing for you to do was bow out of this shebang exchange, and Sally feeling the need to leave her role as moderator and also leave the group.
Regardless, thank you Jackie for volunteering to do this.
I'm in if it's not too late. If so, I'll catch you next time.
Thanks!
Thanks!

OK. Wasn't sure if I needed to confirm.

Better safe than sorry. This is only my second shebang and I'm excited about it so I understand entirely.
Shebang update:Spring Shebang participants:
1. Gretchen (overachieving early finisher)
2. Jackie
3. Gus (excellent shebanger)
4. Sarah Pi (was in from the beginning)
5. Clark (
6. Zen (who is already ready already)
7. Heidi (has her playlist ready)
8. Misha
9. Janet
The shebangs are due May 1st. Make eight copies, and send to me with a self-addressed stamped envelope to return your shebangs back to you in.
I haven't started mine yet. Shut up, you braggarts!
I've got the track list in order. Now I just have to compile and burn the thing.
Oh I still have all the burning, and labeling, and track listing, and cover arting to do. I meant "finishing touches" as in moving things around on the playlist so they flow the way I want them to. I'm not a braggart. I'm just overly thrilled about the entire concept/practice/product of shebangs. They make me HAPPY!!
I couldn't fit everything I wanted to torture you all with on one disc, so I went over to a second.
Cover art? Gulp... Would you settle for a track listing?

Nothing can peeve me more than a mix CD without a track list.
Will the second disc affect our return-package shipping prices? I don't know how to anticipate for heavier...

I never thought of that.
I'll just save the second disk for another exchange. No sense in complicating things.
By the way, how much postage do you usually put on the return package anyway?

It should be about the same as the postage it takes to send, since you're sending and receiving a single package of equivalent weight. I usually add a little extra in case jewel cases up the weight (since I use sleeves).
If you send your packages via First Class, it shouldn't cost you more than $4 to ship out.
mine are DONE done, now. I just have to print out my cover art and stick in the mail. I'm going to hold off, though because I don't want Jackie to have to hang on to it for a month.
We're about two weeks away from the shebang due date of May 1st. Time to start getting serious, shebangers!Who I expect to see shebangs from any day now:
1. Gretchen (go ahead and send them, Gretchen. I know they're ready!)
2. Jackie (guess I'd better start working on mine..)
3. Gus (highly anticipated)
4. Sarah Pi (I like Sarah Pi's taste)
5. Clark (awaited with trepidation)
6. Zen (send them in, Zen!)
7. Heidi (Squee!)
8. Misha (I'm sure Misha's will be newsworthy)
9. Janet (the wild card!)
The shebangs are due May 1st. Make eight copies, and send to me with a self-addressed stamped envelope to return your shebangs back to you in.
If you need my address, send me a personal message, and I will respond immediately!
Uh...I haven't started. But mine will get done; I work best when deadlines are quickly approaching.
Mine are all ready to go. Thought I'd wait until closer to the end of the month.
Trepidation? No worries, Jackie.

I mean, it's weird - I am always cussing myself when I do it because I'm never satisfied with my end product, but getting the mixes from everyone else makes it worthwhile. Totally. Times eleventy billion.

Good thing you slid in "loud" before posting. I was about to jump all over you for that "sophisticated" reference. To be honest, I've never listened to most of the music being discussed around here. I'm familiar with some of the names, but not the sounds.
I'm not so sure about ANYTHING loud, though. I'm constantly yelling at my daughters to turn down the dreadful pop-rap/teen pop they listen to.

I like "Funky Cold Medina" and a few Eminem and Kid Rock tunes.
Stupid question, but does any of that qualify as rap? I'm thinking the Kid Rock not so much anymore, but what about the others?

I want to get Clark drunk, turn on Funky Cold Medina, and see what happens. Will he dance? Sing along? Yes, Sally's right, I put Taylor Swift on the last Shebang. I still like that record. Maybe I'll put it on right now.
Heh. RA.
I think Taylor Swift is the cutest, I'm just trying to get your goat. I'll let it go now. ;) Go free, little goat! Run, eat oats!

My goat is not got:) I like Taylor Swift...really, I'm serious. That's a good record. Maybe not as good as Amy Grant's classic work, but...:)
Urban Dictionary says old goat
An cranky old man with a beard, who might just be your father, and who might also give you a violent haircut if your bangs are too long.
Do you have beard, Larry? I bet you are hard to keep penned up too...
;)

Christ, my art work and track list looks like it was cobbled together by a closed-head-injury-survivor support group after a long, sunny afternoon drinking grain alcohol and Hawaiian Punch out of a garbage can.
Just a warning...
