Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Oh, cool, Gretchen! I guess I should start working on mine.
When are they due?

message 102: by Janet (new)

Janet | 12 comments I loved the Middle of the Night Shebang Gretchen gave me, so I want to do this one. What's the theme?

message 103: by smetchie (new)

smetchie | 4034 comments Janet!! :)

Jackie, I apologize now for including not one, but two songs with children's choirs (sorta). Was that you? Someone said they don't like that. I think it was you.

message 105: by Youndyc (new)

Youndyc | 1255 comments I'm so confused.

What's the theme again?

message 106: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments Youndy, your theme shall be "What's the theme again?" :)

I'm in. The theme came pretty quickly to me (it's a surprise). I've been tinkering with a playlist for a couple of weeks now.

message 107: by [deleted user] (new)

Welcome to TC Janet. Thanks for jumping in.

message 108: by [deleted user] (new)

Youndy, make your mix whatever you want it to be.

I still play Gretchen's mix quite a bit. A bunch of those songs are on heavy rotation on my iPod.

So, basically, my theme will be "I'm so confused!" :-) Sounds about right.

Félix (habitseven) Gretchen's pretty cool.

You know she does this in real life too! She often sort of bursts loudly through the door, blurts out something random, walks past you without saying "hi", then proceeds to the kitchen and starts putting away your dishes or takes your kid upstairs and changes her into pajamas. One minute she's not there, the next minute she is and you don't know how you survived without her. I believe it's a method developed to overcome shyness.
(There's your psych eval. for the day, Jannie.)

Everyone, this is Janet. Janet, this is Everyone.

message 113: by [deleted user] (new)

I wondered where she went.

message 114: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I thought I heard pots and pans rattling in the kitchen.

message 115: by smetchie (last edited Mar 11, 2010 08:24AM) (new)

smetchie | 4034 comments I think I saw her in the TC bathroom helping Gene fold towels and asking how his mother's doing.

message 116: by Janet (new)

Janet | 12 comments Haha! Gretchen, I wish I could argue with you but that pretty much sums me up.

Hello, everyone.

message 117: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Hello Janet. Can you rustle me up a grilled cheese while you're in the kitchen?

message 118: by Janet (new)

Janet | 12 comments Sure, would you like a grown up one or kid one?

message 119: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Uh ....

message 120: by smetchie (new)

smetchie | 4034 comments What's in the grown up one??

message 121: by Janet (new)

Janet | 12 comments Gouda and dijon mustard

What's in the kid one?

message 123: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Oh definitely grown up.

message 124: by Janet (new)

Janet | 12 comments velveta on wonder bread

message 125: by [deleted user] (new)

Moderator, are we still on? Moderator? Hello? HELLO?

message 126: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Yes! I'm in a meeting, let me solidify details later today...thanks for the reminder...

message 127: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
(I guess a moderator who doesn't much mind not not moderating isn't so very into his job.)

message 128: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Pshaw. Careful or I'll delegate this to you, slacker!

message 129: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
!!! I thought you were in a meeting !!!

Nah-nayah. I can't be delegated to. I might give birth all over the shebangs.

message 130: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I was in a meeting earlier, but I was actually teaching when I posted #129. Yay group work!

message 131: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments Anybody know if I was in or out on this one? I can't remember. I'm kinda busy right now, but I honor my commitments. Unless it's due this week. When is it due? I kinda forgot to scroll down to this thread for a long time.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Don't know, Sarah. I think you can be in if you want to, it still seems like we're in the signing up stage. Maybe the moderator could post of list of those in, so we can see how many copies to make. Ahem!

I still want to know when the shebangs are due? When, RA, when???

message 133: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
Does anyone else want to moderate? Just an idea.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments RA's in Chicago today, so this is a good time to make a power grab, if anyone wants to. :)

message 135: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Ooh...unless you're gonna step to the plate, Sallers, that's just wrong...

I'n sorry, this has been a very busy week...I'm actually writing from a McDonalds parking lot in Chicago before picking someone up in the airport. I'm gonna say May first for the due date...but if someone could compile a list of who's in by reading through the thread, I would be most appreciative, I'd be most appreciative, or else you're going to have to wait until tomorrow for a list. Writing while learning over the front seat is kind of a pain in the ass.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I could compile the list, RA.

message 137: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Thanks, librarian. I'm now parked outside a bar waiting for my friend Bob.

Wireless signals are everywhere.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Spring Shebang participants:

1. RA (right? I'm assuming, as moderator that you're in, RA)
2. Gretchen (overachieving early finisher)
3. Jackie
4. Gus (excellent shebanger)
5. Sarah Pi (was in from the beginning)
6. Clark (unconfirmed extremely opinionated music fan)
7. Zen (who is already ready already)
8. Youndyc
9. Heidi (has her playlist ready)
10. Misha
11. Janet

The shebangs are due May 1st. Make ten copies, and send to RA with a self-addressed stamped envelope to return your shebangs back to you in.

message 139: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Thanks...when you're ready, people, message me for my address...

message 140: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
Sorry, RA. That was supposed to be more funny than anything.

As a non-participant I was just observing the constant calls for regulation on this shebanging process. Didn't mean to squish your moderator ego.

message 141: by RandomAnthony (last edited Mar 19, 2010 08:08PM) (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Was that supposed to be funny, too? Just keep me posted, Sally...

I really don't have a moderator ego here to be squished. No one else stepped so I said I would...no sweat, we've worked it out before over time when we're not sure who's in, etc. This is supposed to be fun, you know? It's quickly becoming less so...I don't want to argue about shebangs...

message 142: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
Again, I'm failing at humor. I've been really, really funky lately, sorry. Remember that break I tried to take a week ago? I should have stuck with it.

message 143: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I'm really tired, Sally, it's probably not you...

message 144: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments (I thought it was funny.)

message 145: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I did, too.

message 146: by RandomAnthony (last edited Mar 20, 2010 05:10AM) (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I didn't. But I guess that's because it was directed at me, I felt, on a day when I was tired and was trying to facilitate the shebang because people seem interested and I felt criticized in a snotty, sarcastic way on something that's supposed to be fun and laid-back. And I know we can't hear tone of voice, etc. in these scenarios. And now I feel like I have to defend myself and people are going to pick sides on something that's really fucking stupid and more indicative, probably, of something to do with my exhaustion and Sally's getting ready to give birth. Not fun.

I'm pulling out of this shebang...I don't mean to be dramatic, but not fun.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I love both of you. Can't make me pick sides, so there.

*tries to hug both Sally and RA at the same time, but can't because Sally's too big right now, hugs one at a time*

message 148: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I'll help, Jackie. With the hug, I mean.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I volunteer to take over shebang duties. As it stands right now, make nine copies, and send them to me along with a self-addressed prepostaged mailer.

I moved recently, so please message me if you are participating, and I'll message back my current address.

message 150: by smetchie (new)

smetchie | 4034 comments Thanks, Jackie!!
