I read the books but I think that maybe their toughness is just show. None of the characters manage to kill 2 children. Oh yeah. Tough. I'd say that Lucians are tough, of course, but maybe some are going soft. Ekats, well what could you do? Invent microwavable foods? Kill your siblings?
