Fair Use Or Not

It seems to me that this blogger on Wired does not understand that Fair Use must not undermine the ability of an author to sell his work.

Fair Use is not the sharing of an entire work over the internet, even if it is scholarly.

Ideas cannot be copyrighted. But, when you share a book you are not sharing ideas. You are sharing the author's expression of an idea.
