Sarah I'm currently writing the fifth novel in the series I have started; it is called Rock Bottom. I've only just started writing it and I'm also editing my third book in the series, Hunted Home.
Basically, my stories are about a tiger named Saderia and her adventures. The first book, The Tiger Princess starts out with her trying to find out what happened to her parents ten years ago, and the books are often adventurous and mysterious.
I'm hoping to finish Rock Bottom soon, because I have many more books to write in the series!

I'm writing three at the moment, though I'm having issues. I need some good brainstorming time, because the only story I have a complete plot for is Vigil. Anyways... forgive the dumb description.

Vigil is a short-ish story from the perspective of Fate, who has fallen for a human girl named Amelia Stansbury. However, he determined a very unhappy life for her when she was born. Her father is an abusive drunk, and her mother is too high-strung and flighty to help. Amelia finally decides to sneak away to college with her friend Claire. At college, Amelia meets Darren, who is essentially the perfect man for her. (Somewhere around here, Amelia starts being able to see Fate because he's around her so much.) Fate can't handle seeing his only love with Darren, even though that's how he determined it in the first place, so he tries to keep them apart. (Yeah, I know it's kind of clichéd.)

I got the idea from a totally stupid and girly thought I had. I was missing so many chances to talk to my crush, I felt like some force was trying to keep us away from each other. And that was that... I have the most random thoughts. =P

I'm not really writing any book right now... But I've started, like ten:

Of the Fallen

One Left Standing

Wayward Dreams

Macabre Grin

Dimensional Fantasies

Nonsense

For Eternity

Watch it Fade

Painless

Eternal Eclipse

Iris

Darklit and Hellfire

Two Shadows

That's about it, I think. I finish one and now I can't figure out which one to write next... Oh and I've been thinking about writing The Sixth Dimension.

Ellen (ellenpenleysmith) OF THE FALLEN!!!!

*whine*
Kriisssssss! Why must you write so many addicting stories that you haven't updated?!?!?!?!?

Haha. I get what you mean with not being able to pick which one. I finished Now It's Gone (Although I REALLY need to update it on here) and I haven't really written anything else seriously since. Lol.

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 1017 comments Last night I started writing something... As of now it has no title. It's about someone with no special abilities to speak of, but her mom and sister can make eye contact with someone and see into their entire past...

I'm writing a book called Pianist's Fingers. It's about an orphan kid that learns to play the piano. I'm doing a 10,000-word marathon this week.

message 58: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 1017 comments That's cool. Is it on GR?

message 59: by [deleted user] (new)

Nope. I want to publish it in the next 9 months. So I want to preserve it...keep it from prying eyes.

message 60: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 1017 comments cool. Is it done?

message 61: by [deleted user] (new)

Nope. Hence the 10,000-word marathon. I'm only 2 chapters in.

message 62: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 1017 comments Wow. Good luck getting it published.

message 63: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks! I'll need all the luck I can get.

message 64: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 1017 comments *sigh* I think we all do. You know what this group needs? A big vat of publishing luck we can all borrow now and then.

message 65: by [deleted user] (new)

IKR!? I wanna get in touch with some publishers. I have before, but they aren't interested in publishing the work of a teenager. But I might be able to work something out with Random House. They like this kind of stuff.

message 66: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 1017 comments From what people have said on other forums, you don't want to tell them you're a teenager. Just send them a query.

message 67: by [deleted user] (new)

Good idea. Never thought of that. Well, I did meet the guy in person, so that's kind of hard to hide.
So, do you want to get published before adulthood? See, I want to because I won't be able to get married to a decent girl if I can't show that my writing will make money for our family. You know what I'm saying?

message 68: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 1017 comments No, Taylor. I don't know what you're saying, and I'm not sure if that's sarcasm or not so I'm just going to kind smile and nod and inform you that most girls arn't as shallow as they appear =/

I'd love to be published... that would be amazing. I guess there's pros and cons to it, though. Becuase if you get published young, that writing is always out there. And you're stuck with it forever. Sometimes this is a good thing, but when I look back at things I've written years ago, I inwardly cringe.

message 69: by [deleted user] (new)

How true. But I'm sure people like Christopher Paolini cringe at their own writing...even if it was a New York Times Bestseller.

message 70: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 1017 comments I think everyone probably does at some point or another. but I think it would be awesome. I just don't know if I'd be able to do it.

message 71: by Alexandra (new)

Alexandra Hutton (justlexx) | 28 comments Currently my mind is shattered into like 20 books... i working on my second book in the forbidden series while editing and rewriting the first one (Needs to be longer) i am writing a sidhe book (or faerie for those of you who dont know) also im writing a angel book that im so cut up about i have like 20 exceots all from different parts of my book and its so confusing

message 72: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 1017 comments Wow. If it was a year or so ago I'd suggust you tacke one thing at a time, but a lot of people on here do, like, ten, so... Wow. I wish you luck. but why does it need to be longer?

message 73: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, just try, and you might be able to publish. That's our huge problem. We're good, but too scared to publish.

message 74: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 1017 comments I'm trying. I'm working on a query letter. But I'm the type of person that never sends it out because I keep rereading it, trying to change it around, make it better.

message 75: by Ky (new)

Ky (poeticshark) | 10786 comments Taylor wrote: "Well, just try, and you might be able to publish. That's our huge problem. We're good, but too scared to publish."

Amen to that! (the good-but-nervous thing)

message 76: by [deleted user] (new)

Look for "How to Write Science Fiction and Fantasy" by Orson Scott Card. I think there's a recommended query letter format. It's short, but gets your point across.

message 77: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 1017 comments Yeah... I do a lot of it online too. (How to write attention grabbign queries and cover letters is useful too.) As is the Query Shark. I highly recommend that everyone look her up.

message 78: by [deleted user] (new)

Wow, that's cool. I'll follow this blog!

message 79: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 1017 comments extremly helpful.

message 80: by [deleted user] (new)

You have anything on there?

message 81: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 1017 comments No. I sent in a letter once but she didn't post it.

message 82: by [deleted user] (new)

Probably because it had issues that had already been discussed.

message 83: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 1017 comments Probably. Or it sank in her thousands of emails.

message 84: by [deleted user] (new)

Probably. That seems more likely. What does she do all day? Just read query letters?

Melody [not just some girl you can sway] (melo-chan) | 1281 comments I just started one... it'll be really quite short, about a girl and a boy who like each other, both thirteen, who get separated by a continent for years, and meet again and fall in love.

I have two unfinished songfics with characters from the anime/manga Bleach.

I'm working on a story set in the future about a phoenix changeling child... it's sort of complicated. It's for my friend.

message 86: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 1017 comments Taylor wrote: "Probably. That seems more likely. What does she do all day? Just read query letters?"

Well... she's an agent.

I just posted chapter 2 of the Nameless Novel... you should all read =) http://www.goodreads.com/story/show/2...

message 87: by [deleted user] (new)

Why hadn't I caught that?

message 88: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 1017 comments lol

message 89: by [deleted user] (last edited Apr 06, 2010 01:26PM) (new)

Ugh, I just finished chapter 2 of Pianist's Fingers. Not the best work I've done, but I haven't edited it yet. You want me to send it to you, Amy the Master Critic?

message 90: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 1017 comments sure. Or can you post it as a story? It's a little easier to read that way.

message 91: by [deleted user] (new)

I could...but is it possible to remove writing from Goodreads? I want to keep this as protected as possible. It's weird, I know.

message 92: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 1017 comments Yes. People do it all the time.

message 93: by Hannah (new)

Hannah | 954 comments I'm currently writing Revived, which I, being the failure I am, have worked on for two and a half years, only to have about fifteen thousand words. I've started over about five times because I end up hating what I've written. Over those two and a half years, I planned out the plot and the characters, but when I started over, I realized that it was still missing so much! My character names are pretty random. The names I make up suck, but if I find a pretty foreign name, it never seems to fit.

Yup. That was kind of random, but oh well. :)

I love that story.

message 95: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 1017 comments Hannah- this is my totally unsolicited and ignorable opinion, but maybe you should do it NaNoWriMo style.

Abby- This is a book about a girl who everyone makes fun of. She's annoying, she's weird, no one likes her and she's an easy target. The narrator, Brooke, feels bad for Abby but doesn't really want to stand up for her because well, she doesn't want to get made fun of either. It sounds sort of cliche and I know it is, but hey it's life. And there is more to the story, but if I tell you guys, it'll ruin the story (if you ever read it.)
Cross My Heart- a Civil War story
Remember Me- Can't tell you much about this one without ruining it. Music plays a big part. (And no, this has nothing to do with the movie. and yes, it was my idea first, Hollywood stole the title!)
Outlaw- this is a poem style story about a girl who steals things and her student teacher finds out

If you want to read any of them, I might be willing to post them. I'm not sure yet.

I'm currently writing nothing, because I have no ideas and don't feel like writing that much anyway.

Thus is the life of Baxter.

message 99: by Tiani (new)

Tiani (tianib) | 9 comments Im currently working a book called "A Single Blue Carnation" by MEEE! Well u already knew that...

I came up with it after this weird dream i has where a wild-beast thing eats everyone (NOT WHAT MY BOOK IS ABOUT) and then my brain was like "Hmm, i should write a book. Weird Hun?

Well it is not on goodreads unfortuantly due to my weirdness about not letting people read it...teehee

I may write the sequel but im still debating if i will or just mesh it into one big book.
